What are the steps?

Teal fever is sweeping over me. I found myself pulling vocally for the Marlins yesterday. What are the steps to full time Marlin fandom? Here is what I have now:

Two Marlins hats: one t-ball game day and one t-ball practice. one teal t-ball proud dad jeresy, and one 1998 white home jeresy.

Do I need to recant any loyalty to other MLB teams?

Just follow the team and root for them. Stop caring what other people think and what silly items you own and from when. There are no steps to becoming a fan dude.

Root for the Marlins in good times and bad. Root for all the players - even Lenny Harris.

I used to be a huge Indians for many years but have been more minor league baseball with the Zephyrs and Barons over the last five years. Here are teams that if you gave me their clothes I would not wear: Braves, Mets, Devil Rays, Dodgers, Giants, Blue Jays, A's, or Astros. I used pull for the Red Sox but the whole curse thing got old.

Support the team and become a season ticket holder, even if it's just a mini-plan there is something available in everyones price range.

Hey fishngrits: Good to see a Zephyrs fan on here.

GAEUX Z's and GEAUX FISH!

Now, if the Marlins would just dump Albuquerque and make the Z's their AAA affiliate I'd be in heaven!

As long as you put the Marlins as your #1 team, you're fine.

Get MVP 2005 and use the Marlins every time, especially Online...

I personally don't remember how I got hooked... I went to a couple of games and started watching them about 3 years ago... I hated baseball before then, now I'm Hooked!

Good to hear from someone from my second home. The deal between the Zephyrs and Nationals is only for two years. It could happen the switch to the Marlins. I am back to Nawlins last week of April and Thursday of that week I will be at the shrine on airline with Deanie's in Bucktown food on my shirt. You know a Billy bobblehead would look nice next to Boudreaux at work!

You don't need Marlin jerseys or posters or anything to become a full Marlins fan. Just watch them through thick and thin, cheer for them whenever you watch a game, and post plenty on this board. :whistle

So welcome aboard. :marlins

Oh and this is very, very important: Learn all of the players names and atleast know the manager is Jack McKeon. I can't tell you how many supposed Marlin fans I've heard over the year say "Yeah I like #19" and they couldn't even tell me who #19 is. :plain

Unfortunately I don't get back home until Memorial day weekend and the Z's are on the road; not sure when I'll get to see them this season.

I don't have either of the bobbleheads but I've got the stuffed mascots for both teams. Billy is very cool and most people think that Boudreaux is a beaver!

"If ya ain't in Bucktown, ya ain't at Deanie's" :) Brings back memories...

NolaMarlin,

Deanie's is my favorite place in whole world. I think Boudreaux is awesome. The hats are sweet. I lived there for year and half. I am also a big Saints fan. I am a grad from New Orleans Baptist Theological seminary on Gentilly.

Certainly remain a fan when we're not winning every game by 7 runs

At that time, fans demand for someone's head on a platter, not abandoning the team.

Very Cool! I still bleed black and gold!

I have a friend who went to NOBTS and one of my current co-workers' brother went there also. I've been on campus once for WBSN's "Live at Cafe N.O." nights.

NolaMarlin,

That is awesome! People don't understand how you fall in love with New Orleans and its teams. I only like the Zs and Saints from Louisiana.

Yep, there's no place like home! I'm counting the days until Memorial Day...

To be a true Marlins fan you must know the following:

Who "Steve" is.

Billy IS the best mascot in all of baseball.

We won WS championships in 1997 and 2003.

And that Juan Pierre can't rap.
