  1. It's only been 4 years since i've started a topic on here but I find this to be a fairly interesting discussion. Following Juan Rodriguez on twitter, a lot of people seem to be calling for Brett Hayes to get more playing time over John Buck, with his abysmal average... But just in doing some quick research I found these statistics, which prove quite interesting. Focusing strictly on marlins win-loss record and runs allowed. In Brett Hayes' last 8 games, Marlins pitchers have allowed 56 runs. Marlins are 3-5 in those games. In John Buck's last 8 games, Marlins pitchers have allowed 29 runs. Marlins are 6-2 in those games... Small sample size, but i think it's part of the reason JB is still getting the playing time that he is.. Discuss!
  2. 2 words: Hee Seop Choi
  3. gotta love south florida "fans"... first to criticize, last to show support.
  4. Someone on MLB Network mentioned something I never thought of before. Maybe the reason that the naming rights to the stadium was never announced was due to the Marlins wanting to make their big splash, and then get a sponsor, rising up the price in the process! thought about this the other day... a building is worth a lot more with reyes and pujols playing inside it then without.
  5. #Marins fans be on high alert. Could be historic night -Frisaro SOMEONE FIND ME A DAMN ONLINE STREAM FOR MLB NETWORK firstrowsports.tv
  6. according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network "Marlins owner Loria's meeting with commissioners office related to Pujols contractual issues" could be no trade clause issue? something creative beinfest is doing.. any other thoughts?
  7. big guys are reporting it Ken Rosenthal "Sources: #Marlins, Reyes in agreement on six-year, $106M deal, pending physical. #MLB" Buster Olney "Marlins have agreed to a deal with Jose Reyes."
  8. SI_JonHeyman Jon Heyman those who claimed the #marlins were engaging in a publicity stunt can now take it back. reyes is about to become a fish. yup.... been saying this all along.
  9. Per Ken Rosenthal on twitter seconds ago "Sources: #Marlins, Reyes close on six-year deal, believed to be for $110 million. #MLB"
  10. I like that the Marlins are aggresive, but a little to much. Will we have enough for CJ or Buerhle? yep, tweeted moments ago by Scott Miller of CBS Sports "Marlins definitely have enough $ to land H Bell, Reyes and a starting P like Buehrle. Could steal the show here in Dallas."
  11. welp, i had to do it.. it's not very pretty but: http://freelomo.com
  12. I so happened to wander down to the new stadium yesterday afternoon. I asked about flex packs and he said those are still about 6 months away...He said they were getting ready to introduce half season ticket plans very soon though! Again this was yesterday at the new stadium headquarters..
  13. LOVE that edwin let him finish the game. if it were gonzalez last year he would have taken him out in the 7th. then in the 8th, and then especially after the hit
  14. they should honor the stadium by exploding it, along with the dolphins and huizenga. nay for the patch!
  15. had a little conversation with Joe Frisaro via twitter last night... ME: @JoeFrisaro i hate to say this because i don't want him to go but has Uggla's trade value ever been higher? Joe: @Me he's going to sign a multiyear deal. Why do you want to trade him? JJ's trade value has never been higher. trade him? ~! ME: @JoeFrisaro i was just giving some food for thought since his name was 'on the block.' but .275 25+hr 25+doubles RBIs? yes please Joe: @Me ~ never on the block, meaning since Spring Training. Yes, last Dec he was
  16. the bullpen problem comes down to 2 things. throwing strikes and locating pitches. when pitchers don't throw strikes (or throw bad strikes - up in the zone with non-overpowering stuff) they get beaten. couple in walks and missing on pitches and we see the sh*t storm known as the marlins bullpen. I think it's incredible that these "pitchers" who have made it up to the major leagues can't even throw strikes. i think the stat that really gets me is tankersly can't get right handed hitters out. Baseball is a game of failures and when tank comes in he turns it into a game of success for the hitters. HE'S A PITCHER. yeah, he may be a 'lefty' specialist but what good is he if he's pitching to one hitter a game and at this point not even getting outs. this bullpen has lead me to alcoholism.
  17. The Mets announcers must be paid to find random flaws in opposing players. It's almost a neccessity in order to keep Mets fans happy I was ready to punch my tv keith hernandez pisses me off so badly.
  18. Basically. I don't see how you can expect anyone in the minor leagues to be better than Pinto (especially left handers, especially especially with Hunter Jones injured/released) (Likewise, worse, they all suck), so now we're eating his 1.1m contract to have players who aren't any better than him on the roster. On the flip side, if we released him to give a spot to, say, Daniel Jennings, our top lefty RP spec, then you can understand that even if it's un-agreeable. Or maybe Sean West. But we're eating over 1 million dollars so that James Houser can have a spot on the roster? what fairyland are you living in? pinto was better vs. righties than lefties, and he couldn't get an out in an important situation, wonder why gonzalez dind't bring him in vs righties, oh right. because he didn't have a clue either. thank god that's over with
  19. anyone have an explanation for pulling nolasco after 5 1/3 and 81 pitches (55 or so for strikes) when he wasn't getting hit hard (infield single and swinging bunt single) for tim wood? i don't care if reyes has good numbers against nolasco, he looked like garbage in the first two at bats grounding out to first and had him 0-2 in his 3rd at bat before walking him. i think that was absolute bulls***.. aside from that, why not have all infielders playing in in the bottom of the 8th and no outs. i know they were playing double play depth up the middle but don't you HAVE to go for the out at home knowing that if the run scores we have to face krod in the ninth? someone please explain cause that made no sense.
  20. Windows has had it since Vista and I indeed have that as my wallpaper. I generally update once a week. what's vista?
  21. WELL INTILL THEY FIX IT YOU CAN WATCH THE GATORS :thumbup what does INTILL mean?
  22. also note that if you're using the connections at the same time, your speed will be impacted in both instances because of all the bandwidth you're using... for example if you're streaming porn on one computer and then try to watch an HD version of Lost on another from abc.com, you will probably experience some choppyness, unless you have a sweet connection!!
  23. yea, and grizzly adams had a beard... Grizzly Adams DID have a beard!!
