It would be really interesting to see this happen. Hanley to 3B especially.

Hmm, wonder what we are offering.

Gonna be a fun off season.

Sign Reyes and that CF and we're set in the field. But we wouldn't have much left over for SP.

Apparently Reyes is their highest, or at least a very high priority. Interesting stuff.

I wonder where that leaves Coghlan if Reyes and the Cuban CF signs.

Admittedly, I never really thought much of Reyes. I assumed we wouldn't be the highest bidder and was OK with that.

Also, the FO has repeatedly said that Starters are the top priority this offseason. So if we get Cespedes (how about "Speedy" for a nickname?), I wouldn't even care about Reyes. Boni can hold down 3rd fine, in my opinion. I hope we somehow find at least 2 new starters in the rotation next year to accompany the locks of JJ and Anibal.

Maybe we trade away Morrison for Gio Gonzalez? Or our payroll is higher than we expect and we land Reyes, the Cuban, and one of Buehrle/Jackson?

I think Rosenthal said a couple of days ago that the rotation was the priority.

this is interesting though i still want to get rid of gaby.

we need more power at first.

I'll be more than happy if Reyes is the only position player we get. Reyes at SS, Hanley at 3B, Boni in CF. DONE.

Then maybe get one or 2 solid bench options and focus on SP.

While the rotation does need fixing at ASAP, the crop of FA pitchers next offseason is ridiculous

:hammer :hammer :hammer

the only 1B in the NL that had higher WARs than Gaby last season were Votto, Pujols, and Fielder. and it's looking like we're not getting any of those guys.

f*** power. give me wins.

The #Marlins aren't talking exclusively to Reyes. They also have Albert Pujols & Prince Fielder on their radar.

Reyes would be a good signing. The cuban player I'm wondering is another highly touted prospect that will be a bust. I'd rather see them spend that money on pitching. At least there would be depth regardless...

Would rather have Pujols or Fielder.

It would make the top of the order interesting with Reyes and EB batting in front of Stanton most likely.

How much money/years is he expected to get? Are we talking Carl Crawford type money?

ok f*** power. give me a batting average better than .260, especially when your over .300 after the all star break. give me a second half where you dont crumble to mediocrity. give me a hit in the bottom of the 7th, 8th or 9th innings.

Heyman hears that Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is pushing for Prince Fielder or Pujols.

Yes please sign this injury prone shortstop for a loooooooong time for a lot of $$$$$, oh wait the team already has one of those

So we should sign one of the first basemen even though though they will cost significantly more and the team already has two.

The Marlins shouldn't sign Reyes, Fielder or Pujols. They're not worth what they're gonna get and that's a problem when the budget is limited.

i'll be all for Reyes until his hamstring explodes running to first on the first day of spring training

I'm guessing the Reyes water is to simply test the water. Probably not going to be really serious players in the signing of Reyes.

Pujols/Fielder on the other hand...

No reyes please. id rather have bonifacio and fielder than reyes and gaby. Imagine a 4-5 lineup of stanton and fielder. WE need more run producers.

Plus reyes is very injury prone and i don't trust him with a big contract.
