I definitely would, he's been lights out, and we've seen in LA what mota does in the 8th. No doubt in my mind i would do this, if only for a time when both are back

heck yea. Use mota as set up a couple of games, and go from there.

Ease Mota back into the role.

Let Mota pitch in a couple of non-save situations before putting him back into the closer role.

He has 4 saves in the Marlins last 4 games.

 

Leave him in there.

I'd keep Jones closing as long as he performs. Mota has excelled in his career as a setup man and this would be a safe bet. When Jones starts pitching poorly... then you make some moves.

Marlins manager Jack McKeon indicated today that Guillermo Mota and Todd Jones could split save opportunities after Mota comes off the DL this week.

''One works a couple of days in a row and the next guy can take it,'' McKeon said. ''That way, if one guy goes down, we still have somebody to close.''
