05/30/2012 Washington Nationals @ Miami Marlins -- 07:10PM ET
Wouldn't say Bell has had that miraculous recovery yet, but let's go Fish! Agreed, Bell has yet to prove he is a reliable closer. Two uneventful outings after two total meltdowns doesn't prove anything. Give us five straight saves with no drama and then we'll talk.

5/22 Post Game
Heath Bell still doesn't look impressive, nor do I trust him with a lead. He did recover quickly I will give him that. He did start with a hanging breaking ball, but he was hitting the corners with 96mph fastballs after that. Not perfect by any means, but that was a good job putting away the heart of the Rockies order after the hit.

Nice rebound from Nolasco. Congrat! I voted for Mike because he's Stanton with two hits that stayed inside the ballpark and did not break something. Nice guy! Tell that to the guy in the stands icing down his cheek after being hit by a towering Stanton foul ball -- the higher they go, the faster they're traveling on the way down.

5/13 Post Game
Relatively speaking (compared to, say, the third game in New York), Bell didn't pitch that horrendously. He does have some location problems, though. The double to Murphy was just bad luck, but he did walk a batter and that 3-2 pitch to Turner was left up for the taking. The problem is, they're paying him to be lights out -- the bullpen has any number of pitchers who can throw a inning giving up a walk and a fortunate hit or two. Unfortunately for us, there is still plenty of incentive to put him out there -- i.e. to make the contract work -- and for as long as his teammates keep pulling his ass out of the fire, they will keep doing it. Ironically, the longer the Marlins keep winning, the more closing opportunities Bell will get, even if he can't get it right.
