  1. besides that 7th inning meltdown by Dontrelle, it was an awesome awesome game, its good to see the boys come from behind, get the win and set the tone for the series. I know Maddux is a monster in his own right with the glove (how many does he have 16?) but Dontrelle made some pretty spectacular plays in the first few innings of the game, surely one day he will have a couple of his own
  2. hooray for a couple of midgets duking it out. Umm Floyd is 5'8" and Oscar 5'10" I think Mayweather has a clear edge but De La Hoya will do his usual backing and waiting and waiting and backing until the end of the fight to take it on points. if there's a KO it will be De La Hoya within the first 4 rounds if there's a KO it'll be floyd. His whole family has a glass chin and oscar has only being only ko by Hopkins. Oscar wins fights early becuase he gets tired in the late rounds. what I meant was that if De La Hoya has a chance to KO Mayweather it will be in the first 4 rounds
  3. Come on, it has zero relevance. We had Willis, a bunch of rookies and Brian Moehler has his competition forget 2006 so baring any injuries what is the point of earning that coveted opening day start? or shape your rotation to face their top starters? I know it does not work every time you face an oposing team because of days off and injuries and whatnot but thats what you want when you face an oponent, your top starters.

  5. I don't know why people keep saying that if Mitre had options left he'd be in the minors. Remember, the Marlins think high enough of him that they slotted him as our #2 starter at the beginning of last season, before he got hurt!!! I think that was based more on experience rather than talent. I like Mitre but at the time the other 3 starters had no MLB experience
  6. I am absolutly loving Mitre's look dartanian to the attack!
  7. some news I guess the rotation should shape up somewhere along these lines: Willis, Olsen, Nolasco, Obermueller, Mitre I hope that Mitre doesnt blow it this saturday because it could be ugly then. I dont understand the poing with sending Sanchez to AAA unless there is a major flaw in his mechanics. I know he has been pretty wild as of late but it can't be that bad. He was still 2-1 and that one loss as wild as he was, he kept the team in the game till he was forced out of it due to his high pitchcount.
  8. why? and where would you play him? DH. He sucks at fielding. so where does Sweeney go? Sweeney gets traded to the Detroit Redwings for an octopus and two live chickens. I have no love for guys with the C on their jersey. man captains is what every team needs. John Franco with the mets is such a great example, it didnt do anything but it gave him the right to say he is the captain of a team and it let him stay with the mets longer. same with Sweeney with the Royals
  9. I think Mitre and Obermueller should fight for that 5th spot. Obermueller has defenatly pitched well enough to at least earn the right to stick around
  10. I like Amezaga, the guy has a big heart and plays his butt off considering that on physique alone he wouldnt make it in the majors as a centerfielder. His true value lies in what he is, an utility player making the best out of every chance. Unfortunatly when he is out playing CF everyday, no middle infielder gets a day off.
  11. hello all rough outing for Sanchez but on a encouraging note I think Obermueller has earned his time with the club and hopefully will be sticking around for a while as a spot starter / long relief
