I like today's developments. Pujols would have been awesome for the next 5 years but that last 5 years could be painful to watch, for the fans, the team, Pujols, and the 20 million per year hit on salary. It's best we move on and look to Stanton to produce more and continue down the path of realizing his potential. Gaby at first is getting better year to year batting and he's a capable enough fielder. I like the shift in emphasis to pitching. I'd like to see some depth added to our middle relief.

If he signs with the Marlins he has 1.2 million extra per year to donate to charity. He's not only a great talent, he's got his own commendable demeanor and charity. There comes a point where it means more than money, for him....but he'll find it hard to slough off that extra 1.2 million he could give to charity instead of Missouri.
