So now that my cable company out here in Minnesota picked up ESPN-HD I can't wait for April 25 to come.

Marlins vs. Braves on ESPN's sunday night basbeall in all it's High Definition Glory. =)

do you need an hdtv to watch hd

do you need an hdtv to watch hd

The game will also be on the regular ESPN. ESPN HD requires an HDTV and HD service from your cable or dish company. It gives you an improved picture, I have the HDTV, but have not put in HD service yet.

Cape mentioned before that some time this season Fox sportns net will be displaying all marlin home games in HDTV.

lazy  actually, i can't decide whether to wait for cable to come out or to go with dish network. it also costs alot of money and the programming isn't as plentiful as I would like. In 2006, I will be in total HD though, guaranteed.

Go with Direct TV. You get the NFL Sunday Ticket (only on Direct TV) plus all the other sports packages available, including "MLB Extra Innings".

Welcome

Actually, I have Charter Cable out here and I can get access to all the sport packages with them too. I already signed up for MLB Extra Innings and Plus I get 10 HDTV channels including ESPN HD =)

Well Actually I am not sure what is in the works, but they told me that they are working on getting an NFL package. I do not know if that Means NFL Sunday Ticket or if that means a new NFL TV thing. I am not sure what contratual situation the league has. But I would not think they would lock themselves in to ONLY allowing DirectTV to show their games.

FU*K Direct TV, I hate that company and I will never pay a DIME for their service. The only thing they offer that I can't get else where is the NFL Sunday Ticket. But to be compeltely honest wtih you I don't care. I got a Kick Ass Sports Bar right near me that has over 30 TV's setup and every Sunday during Football season they put all the games on anyways. So I can go there and watch all the games I want for free and I can anjoy a Berr with some Buddies of mine while I am at it. I get MLB Extra Innings which is all I need here in Minnesota so I can catch the Marlins games during the week. I plan on switching to Voom as soon as they get better sports coverage. Voom is a much better Satellite service for the video enthusiest such as myself. They offer over 30 channels of High Definition Content and tons of original programming.
