The real Lowell
I don't see how that should make anyone feel any better. Just because a handful of major league stars are not hitting well, does not make it easier to swallow that Lowell is batting .187. That doesn't make it okay.

Can i get a spoony update?
I remember hearing May in spring training. Haven't heard the latest.

Mota hurt, so Jones is the new closer?
Is Jones really that much of a step down from Mota anyway? I have not been impressed with Mota as the closer. Not bad, but not overly impressive either. I don't think Jones is any better or any worse.

Marlins Senate War Room
Just out of curiousity, does the latest stadium proposal in clude changing the name to the Miami Marlins? I hope not. If the state hlpes fund the stadium, it seems like it should remain Florida.

The real Lowell
Is anyone starting to grow concerned about Mike Lowell? He's batting .187 with only 2 HR's in the month of April. I really expected him to break out of this by now. I'm starting to wonder if there are any hidden injury problems. I saw that McKeon dropped him to the seventh spot in the order. I'm not sure if that is the anwer. I just don't remember him ever slumping like this before. I hope he hasn't hit the wall, but at age 31, I doubt that is it. And I hope it's not an injury.

trade ideas?
I would wait and see. I say as long as we are in the race, hold on to Burnett. There is no reason we cannot win it all this year with him. The Marlins have not played their best ball yet. Cabrera has been average, Lowell has been in a huge slump, and Lo Duca is just now picking it up. If we ever can match our bats of last year, with our pitching of this year, we will be the best team in the Majors. However, if we hang around the wild card area, I would be all for making a trade. A two for one maybe. A trade for a good young arm like Haracio Ramirez (not that that would ever happen). On a side thought, I would love to see Redman back in Florida. He has pitched very well for the Pirates, a losing team. If we could swing a trade where we could bring him back to be the fifth starter, I'm all for it. Even if it means giving up a prospect.

Red Flagging the Marlins
I understand the whole pitch count thing and all, but why tax a players arm if you don't have to, regardless of the amount of pitches he's thrown? It's a long season, I say get them out while you can, even if the pitch count is relatively low. Do we have that little faith in our bullpen. I am thoroughly convinced Saturdays game lead to todays CG. But, at some point, we have to trust these relievers, esp Mota.

Herald: Damon Disgusted with Marlins
Anything we say doesn't matter, they already punked themselves enough. Damon, Millar, and (the catcher) are all appearing on an upcoming episode of "Queer eye.." where they will be made over by the queers. No joke, it was on the radio yesterday. So, considering what we are dealing with here...............

Taker for Encarnacion? Marlins after Sanchez?
This is what I'm talking about. I would ceratinly take a flier on Sanchez. If he is healthy, he is much better than encarnacion, and better than Conine at this point, as much as it pains me to say that. Bring him in, shop Encar.

Notes from Today's Game
Speaking of Relief Pitcher struggles, anyone know what Spooney's current status is? 711517 He won't break ST with the major league team. From the last I heard expect him May-ish. 711545 I hope he comes back full strength and reaches his potential.

Who would you like to see in a clutch situation?
Suprised to see Delgado has no votes. He certainly hasn't started off on a good foot here. Struggling so far, though it's just preseason.

Where do you want the stadium? Round 2
I don't live close, but my main concern is that the name stays "Florida", not Miami.
