Phlub
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1767556 I'd love to have Tim Couch, kid's got a world of talent, he's young. He did bad in Cleveland, but remember he had no O-Line, WR's of note, and RB's compared to what we have in Green Bay. But nothings set in stone yet. TarHeel324
couch would be great in green bay--at first, as a backup hell never be the starter
Buckeye
I hope you got the chairs and dinette set to go with him. He's mediocre. COUCH JOKEZ!
Phlub
Remember... Besides Kevin Johnson (who had 1 good year 1999), Andre Davis (1 good year in 2002), William Green (1 good year in 2002) Who has Couch had? Surely not the likes of Brett Favre as a teacher, or Ahman Green, Najeh Davenport, Tony Fisher, William Henderson, Nick Luchey, Bubba Franks, Javon Walker, Donald Driver, Robert Ferguson or the best Offensive line in the business to help him out. The Offensive Line and lack of a good tutor are the reasons Couch has been Below Average in Cleveland. Not because he sucks.

Phlub
Walker's way better then Driver is. But still, care to explain the lack of O-Line, Good QB Tutor and a consistent running game? Those are more important to a successful offense and good QB then good WR's.

Phlub
If you were Tim Couch would you be better off having Chris Palmer or Brett Favre mentor you on the QB position? Nuff said.

Hugg
I don't know why there's an automatic assumption that just because Brett Favre is a great QB he will be a great teacher. And who the heck said Tim Couch wants to be taught? He's been in the league for 4 seasons now and he doesn't exactly strike me as the kind of guy who wants to be told what he was doing before was wrong. I will make no comment on KJC's nonsense. Phlub
Actually Hugg you bring up a great point. Favre just has pure talent. But he also has such a knowledge for the game of football. BUT Favre's technicque SUCKS, it's very unorthodox, and thats probably the reason he wouldn't make a great teacher. But still, like I said, Brett know's what he is talking about. As long as he isn't trying to tell Couch technique.....
bman8316
I also think that Couch could reach his potential in the right system. But I dont see Green Bay as that right system. Couch is going to make mistakes and if hes trying to fill the shoes of the one of the greatest QBs of all time, then he will be run out of Green Bay by midseason. Couch is going to make mistakes and if hes trying to fill the shoes of the one of the greatest QBs of all time, then he will be run out of Green Bay by midseason. That's actually an interesting point. Couch has already proven he has a thin skin (crying and cursing out Cleveland after a game when they booed him) and that could be an interesting scenario, should it play out. Couch is quite good though, he's gotten a bad rap. He actually plays pretty well when he gets protection, which was rare in Clownsville. And, unlike the claims of some posts above, Cleveland's recieving corps isn't all that. They've got a bunch of speed guys who A) don't go over the middle and B) don't run good routes, which leaves QBs out to dry a lot. They're talented, but there is a reason none of them seem to be able to lock down the starting "majority" roles and keep rotating.
Phlub
All I will say is that Javon Walker is better then whats in Cleveland. He's probably the most legit WR Green Bay has because of his Deep Threat playmaking abilities. You watch, if Walker starts which he will, he will have a breakout season.
