Unfortunately (or fortunately perhaps) I missed most of the game today.

 

However, I turned it on in time to catch:

grounds into a double play!" McKeon are you insane? You pinch hit for the only guy who has driven in a run all game? I am pleased that Banks has gotten some starts lately, but is everyone forgetting that Hollandsworth is on fire right now?? Why in hell would you pinch hit for him, regardless of the righty-lefty thing.

 

Nice work again there Pudge. Why McKeon would even use you as a pinch-hitter right now is mystifying. Couldn't someone have said "uhh....not a good idea coach."

 

Derek also grounded to first base with someone on third & only one out....what happened there? They didn't score on the play? Who started for Pudge? Will the Marlins ever win again? Could Lee and Pudge suck any worse?

why oh why did McKeon take out Hollandsworth and PH with Pudge when there was 2 on and 1 out in the 8th?

I agree. Was there a lefthander pitching? I can only assume that was the plan, to go with a righty bat against the lefthanded pitcher.

 

But still, can you seriously take the "righty-lefty" theory over the "one player hits doubles and the other hits into double-plays" theory?

What's even worse is you knew that was our last chance there in the 8th, with Gagne coming in to close in the 9th.
