March 28, 200422 yr These guys pitched great today. Phelps faced 7 batters and got six outs (1 was an error by Sea Bass). Benitez also pitched extremely well. I like the way his splitter and slider are around the lower 80's to contrast with his heater.
March 28, 200422 yr Yeah phelps was very good. Two scoreless innings, that really helped alot for him to make the team. Benitez was also good, his splitter was nasty in the upper 80's. His fastball wasnt the good heat that he has but at least got one up at 95 MPH. His control was way better than i have seen him. Pretty good job from the Bullpen and Starter IMO.
March 28, 200422 yr So what do you guys think? Phelps and Perisho as our two lefties possibly? Based on performance, these two guys should make the team, but everywhere I read, it almost sounds like Tejera is a lock to make the team cause of his history with the team.

He is a versatile pitcher who has come through for us in a pinch. If it weren't for him and Phelps last season coming in to pitch, we would have fallen out of contention.
