April 2, 200422 yr Penny has long had a reputation of trying to overpower hitters when his best option was to fool them with breaking pitches, to the extent that the Marlins had the pitch-speed display at Pro Player Stadium turned off for a couple of his starts last season because they didn't want him to admire his work. They might not have to do it again. Penny has worked on his changeup this spring, and he thinks it will only improve the effectiveness of his 95 mph fastball. ''He's learning not to strike everybody out,'' pitching coach Wayne Rosenthal said. ``He's learning to spot his fastball better. 'He said to me, `I'm not going to try to strike everybody out. I'm going to get ground balls, and if I get three to four strikeouts a game, that's fine.' I think that's going to make him a very good pitcher and make him last longer, too.'' April 2, 200422 yr rofl.... the whole article's about him taking on alligators, hunting everything imaginable, & being just a general badass, then the last line of the article reads: Hunting season is over. Baseball season is about to start. No team or batter frightens Penny. Only one thing does. ''Snakes,'' he said. ``I don't go near them.'' Brad Penny, "Indiana Jones".
