Are they now willing to compromise on the ballpark - no roof; basic designs - just so that they'll stay in the area? Look, I'm trying to be positive here but it's a strange way of doing things.

Misdirection in terms of playing off the city of Miami or the state legislature? Which body is more important for them? I thought that location was not important as long as it was in the county that's dealing with them. In fact, I think the FO went into this thinking that the state tax rebate would be in the bag by now. So all this pronouncements about how there's still time is simply hiding the fact that they were blindsided by events. They just don't strike me as master negotiaters, IMO.

 

Hence, my thinking that the Miami pols may win this one.
