My battle with a Cubs fan

Featured Replies

From 1993 to 2003 the Marlins have drawn 18,484,691 to Joe

Robbie/Pro Player Stadium. That is roughly 1,680,426 people a year.

Not bad in a working class city with a large threat of rain. In an

81 home game season, that is about 20,746 per game.

For the sake of comparison, all numbers for the Marlins do not

include playoffs. The Cubs from 1993 to 2003 drew 27,489,379 to

Wrigley Field, also not including playoffs. That is 2,499,034 people

a year or 30,852 a game.

So before you rake on us, look at the numbers and see that just

becuase we don't have rabid, drunk fans who make police quotas happy

when their team comes to town, doesn't mean we are fickle and

undedicated.

Cubs are an original NL team, once called the Orphans and play in an

ancient Continental League Park. We play in a football stadium, and

the ballpark is on the way. Once it is built you can bet it will be

full since it will be in the city instead of the northern, less

desirable suburb of Opa Locka and have a roof to help keep the

weather out when needed.

So far, this season, our average attendance is 25,966 after 15

games. Not bad for a team which was not supposed to exist.

Here is what the fan said BTW:

Yeah, like when the Cubs play down there, tell me it ain't like 3 to 1 Cubs fans versus "Fins" fans! (All 5,000 of 'em!) World Champs and they average, what, 8 or 9 k attendance a game? If that. It's sad. The team deserves better...

all cub fans are ignorant a**holes that. PERIOD

i hope that team never wins a WS while I'm alive. i would hate to see the destruction they would cause to the city of Chicago. ESPN depicts them as humble.....YEAH RIGHT they are baseball's form of terrorist.

All Cub fans are mad because they havent won the WS in a long time...and its fustrating...because the Cubs have been a good team for a while and they havent been able to do anything with their players... and they all blame it on the curse...if they would win the WS sometimes then they wouldnt act like this...

Cubs are Yankee fans X1,000,000 waiting to hatch if they ever *gulp* win the whole thing

Yeah...if the Cubs win the world series then they would prob. show off more than the Yanks do...they would make it a big big deal... they would never forget about it...

And they are prob worse than Yankee fans...Yankee fans think that the Yanks are the best team...etc. But the Cub fans go even further then that...they think the Cubs are even better..

Jealous lil' buggers, a classy cub fan is as rare as an un-cooked steak. Not to mention that bogus stat. isn`t even true. If wew`re all fair weather fans, why would we pick the Flubs?

all cub fans are ignorant a**holes

never say that ALL of one group of one thing is the same, no matter how much you don't like them
