1. Is this the final nail in the coffin, guys? I don't know how much more heartache I can take.
2. Financially, John Henry definitely did the most damage to this team. PR-wise with the fire-sales and fielding low-salary teams (although all the owners have done the same), I definitely think Wayne takes the cake. Wayne definitely gave us a black eye and started the terrible PR reputation we are now virtually infamous for.
3. Mave replied to CRoss's topic in Miami Marlins
John Baker will soon come back to Earth (it's not like he's left Earth altogether, but he's being doing pretty well situationally) soon and then we will feel the need for a catcher. Plus, as mentioned above, dude's defense isn't good.
4. Our style has been working, no change necessary. While I agree, I think it wouldn't hurt to be more patient sometimes even it does cut off some of our HRs.
5. I've seen Freddi go crazy so OP is definitely uninformed and wrong. It's just seems like the spoiled Marlins fans want to jump on Freddi for EVERYTHING as of late, which is typical for Miami fans when a team is performing well but some things just go wrong, etc...
6. Hitting was excellent tonight, even after leaving a ton of men on base early in the game. Definitely something to build on. :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup :thumbup
7. cards and brewers are pretenders i think we have a "better" chance to win the wildcard but we can win either one, honestly...
8. how big is the pizza guys? and how long do we have to claim it?? i was at the game last night...
9. I was at the game last night and definitely agree it was a great atmosphere. The Pro (I still call it that) was packed and the chants were awesome. CODY'S chant being my favorite. Place went absolutely nuts when Josh got his double.
10. what the hells up with the board?
11. i would jump on this but tonight is one of the few saturday nights i have to work. argh.
12. Sure, but his reactions are simply funny to me. How can anyone say Wallace got 'owned', he is an interviewer he is there to ask questions not to debate or refute what Clinton is saying. Instead, he obviously 'owned' Clinton by getting him so wound up with simple questions. I actually think Clinton is a good man, and I don't think that about alot of democratic congressmen. His work after his presidency is very good but this interview just re-affirms what I've always thought, the guy cared more about being liked and what was thought of him instead of doing the right thing and making something out of his 8 years. I do think it's un-fair to play the blame game when it comes to catching big time islamic terrorists, it's counter productive and helps nothing. I don't know why it's a contest to see who can catch the terrorists the fastest, like I've said on here whoever catches him is fine with me as long as we catch the scum. so wallaces purpose is to get clinton wound up with simple questions? therefore he 'owned' him? :mischief2
13. id like a proven CF, and a greg zaun/miguel olivo platoon oh and of course any bullpen help we can get.
14. Can we get a list of CF's that will be free agents this offseason? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2006/07/2007_free_agent_1.html hmm here are the free agent catchers for 07 http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2006/04/2007_free_agent.html slim pickins
15. fire bill robinson... :plain :lol :lol :lol :lol
16. didnt the fish steal a ridiculous amount of bases during a game off heilman last year or something? or am i thinking of someone else?
17. rferry, thats right, it was reed base running, i almost totally forgot about that, i would have liked to see him try to steal second perhaps and then maybe have him bunted over to 3rd...
18. Again, Girardi doesn't call balls and strikes and he doesn't hit. That's what it comes down to...and, yeah, not hitting for Olivo probably wasn't a great idea, but you can't embarass a starter like that. the marlins are in the middle of a wildcard race and youre worried about embarassing starters??? they cant be worried about if someones feelings are gonna be hurt, they have to try to win each and every game by any means (and im sure olivo could care less if thats what it takes to win, if he does, hes selfish and not a team player) if pinch hitting for a slumping mediocre #8 hitter whos at .250 (who by the way has been over-achieving all year) is what it takes to win, then im all for it. i didnt even care too much about joe having helms bunt and keeping tank in for too long, but i think not pinch hitting a big time hitter like jacobs with the tieing run on base is completely unexcuasble.
19. deceptive? how so? everytime conine was given a chance to play, he lit the ball on fire...
20. LMFAO 2003, nice. :lol :thumbup
21. yea switch hermida with aguila. and start willingham and or conine instead of aguila and you have a nice lineup.
22. I just hope that he can go back to being mikey next year. If he hits 20 hrs and 80 rbis at the least, there is no stopping the fish. And where are we going to put him? Cabrera has made a few stellar plays at 3B over the past week. The one play he made on the line last night with just an arrow to 1B was impressive. I'll go as far as saying I think Cabrera gets to the ball that Giles hit past Lowell last night to start the 8th inning rally. Had Cabrera stayed at 3B the inning could have been much different. Cabrera appears to have better range, and definitely has a better arm than Lowell. We are gonna put him where he has always played, 3rd base. He is a much more experienced player at that position than Cabs, even if the latter has a better arm and range, and I have my doubts about him having more range than Mike. A few spectacular plays do not make him a GG candidate, not saying that he might not become a very good 3rd baseman. But if Mike goes back to his old form, the marlins better find a spot for him cuz they will need his production. So Cabs back in left, and right field will be taken over by either Niner or Hermida. From what he's shown us, I believe Cabrera is ready to take over at 3B. No doubt we can find another LFer for less than the $9M Lowell is due next year who would give us equal production. Well unless we can find that allusive Left fielder who will produce, we'll have to keep Lowell. I do know that we can't go with two rookies in the outfield (Hermida/Willingham), but perhaps we oughta give them a shot if Niner retires or whatnot. What about Lowell for Bradley? We move JP to LF. Bradley takes over in CF. Hermida in right. JP to LF. LOL right with his girly ass arm.
23. that was a helluva swing, reminded me of vintage lowell. hopefulyl hes back, it would be HUGE if he could get hot in the next 2 weeks and help carry this team. doubt it though.
24. It's all between the ears. I wonder if he has tried a sports psychologist. 943099 My shrink is actually the Marlins team shrink. :mischief2 :mischief2
25. what a game can do for a message board 943275 hahahahaha yea.
