An offseason of change?
First of all, I love for Mike Lowell to stay. But if he goes we move Cabrera to third, bring Aguila to play left field, and with the money we save we have more chances of keeping Loduca and or Pavano, Armando well Mota would not be a bad option at closer especially with spooney coming back, its not a bad situation. 570468 Our lineup is weak enough with Lowell in it, removing lowell's place in the lineup and replacing it with Chris Aguila would be devastating.

I know I'm always Mr. Optimistic...
If I was told in 2002 that the marlins would win it all in 2003, but miss the playoffs in 2004, I would be estatic. 568768 They were missing the chemistry they had last year and allowed small slumps to turn into protracted slumps. Was Ozzie Guillen's presence missed? 569063 Oh yeah of course, this team slumped because Ozzie Guillen wasn't in the clubhouse slapping asses. :lol :lol :lol :lol Get real.

Phillies at Marlins - Game 1 of 3
You gotta think someone is gonna hit one out eventually off liddle... They are just smoking the ball right to the fielders.

Phillies at Marlins - Game 1 of 3
team just looks flat out there. cant blame em, they have to be tired. but a philly choke is inevitable. marlins will be victorious.

Phillies at Marlins - Game 1 of 3
Nice play by Jeff there. Another reason to name the street Conine Street. Now we need a number. 93 or 1 or what number do you suggest? 567496 What street??

Phillies at Marlins - Game 1 of 3
tough inning. good sign is enc & trelle smoked the ball. and gonzalez hit the ball pretty hard too. im confident we'll get on the board the second time around with the top of the lineup coming up in the 4th.

Phillies at Marlins - Game 1 of 3
It'd be nice if we come out and get a run or two on the board this inning with the bottom of the lineup.

Sweet Win Today!
Giants don't play tommorow. None of the wildcard contending teams play tommorow except for the Cubs of course. So if we sweep the doubleheader we gain 2 games on the Cubs and 1 game on the giants, padres, and astros.
-
Sweet Win Today!
If the Giants lose today, and we can somehow sweep the double header tommorow, we might just be back into this and only 2.5 games back or so. I might be dreaming here but let's play out what the standings will look like tommorow if the Giants, Astros lose today, and we sweep the doubleheader against the Cubs of course. San Fran 83-67 Chicago 82-67 0.5 Houston 82-68 1.0 San D. 81-69 2.0 Florida 80-69 2.5 So, if everything goes as planned, we'll go into a 3 game series against the Phillies at the Pro who are very sweepable. This thing might start looking pretty good. Tommorow's double header & the Phillies series is where we need to pick up our pace and get on fire. These series against the Expos & the Braves are just bumps along the road. Does anyone remember when we got swept last year in September at Pittsburgh? Also, after tommorow... San Fran will have 12 games left. Chicago will have 13 games left. Houston will have 12 games left. San Diego will have 12 games left. Florida will have 13 games left.

Miggy Cabrera, Player of the Day
You guys realize you're argueing with someone who probablly doesn't watch Cabs or the Marlins on a daily basis like we do, right? Basically, these guys don't know s*** lol.

Pavs gettin Young-er?
Oswalt - 17-9, 203 IN, 3.59 ERA, 181 K's, 52 BB, .255 BAA Pavano- 16-5, 186 IN, 3.09 ERA, 115 K's, 46 BB, .248 BAA Schmidt-15-7, 189 IN, 3.19 ERA, 215 K's, 66 BB, .204 BAA (ERA should get worse after tonight) .204 batting average against looks good for Schmidt, but he's dropped off lately... 3 poor starts in a row now. If that keeps up.... Three or four really good starts might do it for Pavs. 546910 Pavano is more valuable to the Marlins than Oswalt and Schmidt are to the Astros and Giants respectively. 546977 no way, take the marlins goggles off, schmidt is pretty much the only GOOD pitcher on the giants staff, he is huge to them.

They better not play in games at Wrigley!
f*** 'em. Just forfeit the games and hold a press conference calling out Selig favoring the big money teams that Fox wants in the playoffs and WS. I'd rather miss the playoffs then give in to this crap. If we had to play the games in Chicago we should have done it this past weekend. Screw this crap. 545560 And exactly what will this accomplish? Nothing.

Do you ever sneak down to better seats?
No, if you want better seats, pay for them. It's one thing to sit in outfield reserve and sneak down a few rows, but to go from the fish tank to founders club or an extreme upgrade like that is just plain wrong and you shouldn't do it. IMO it's only OKAY to sneak into unoccupied seats located in the same or similar price range as the seats you purchased, otherwise it's wrong to buy a 5 dollar ticket and steal 45 dollar seats. Just because nobody is sitting them is not an excuse nor does it justify it, if you wanted those seats so badly you should have paid for them like everyone else. 542959 haha quit being such a stiff

Juan Encarnacion
He has definitely been stepping it up. This team will need him to keep showing up down the stretch if we want to take that wildcard spot.

Billy Koch no longer a Marlin
you people are dumb. well some of you. billy has an era of 3.51 he has given up a grand total of 3 earned runs since july 1. thats an ERA of somewhere around 1. you people are stupid. 535932 but it when he gets on and walks people, the onl; reason he has only3 EARNED runs....? His name: Armondo Benitez. Billy WALKED the bases loaded, and had 1 out. Armondo came in, during a 3-1 count, and struck him out and then got the next guy to pop out. Billy is always beeing bailed out. 535959 not only that, but most of the situations he was put in have been mop-up roles and such. im not knocking billy or anything, just pointing it out.

Baseball Tonight
who cares about what they say. i dont give a f***.do u all get your jollys off by hearing mention of the marlins? we flew under the radar last year and if it were up to me i would not wanna hear anything about them at all on BBTN. u watch the games and u know what happens so why do u care if a national network lets u know something u already know. 522956 I agree 100%.
