September 8, 200421 yr Pavano has all the makings of a Cy Young winner. Tied for first in NL in wins, 2nd in ERA(im pretty sure hes 2nd), and 2nd in quality start %. Mark my words Carl will be a finalist, if not win, the Cy Ypung award for the best pitcher in the National League.
September 8, 200421 yr He may not win b/c his K total may not be high enough. Jason Schmidt is close to Pavs in both wins and ERA, but he also leads the league in K's. That might make the difference.
September 8, 200421 yr Author Schmity has struggled lately, i dont think he can pull it together in time to win it. Just my opinion...

September 8, 200421 yr I would be shocked if he won it, considering how little attention our team gets.
September 8, 200421 yr i think its between schmidt and pavs. IMO whichever guy pitches in the playoffs wins the award

September 8, 200421 yr I hope Schmidt continues his downfall, so that will help our wild card chances and helps Pavs shot at the Cy Young.

September 8, 200421 yr Oswalt - 17-9, 203 IN, 3.59 ERA, 181 K's, 52 BB, .255 BAA Pavano- 16-5, 186 IN, 3.09 ERA, 115 K's, 46 BB, .248 BAA Schmidt-15-7, 189 IN, 3.19 ERA, 215 K's, 66 BB, .204 BAA (ERA should get worse after tonight) .204 batting average against looks good for Schmidt, but he's dropped off lately... 3 poor starts in a row now. If that keeps up.... Three or four really good starts might do it for Pavs.

September 8, 200421 yr I pray he doesnt win it 546969[/snapback] In a selfish way, I agree. Him winning the CY would likely drive up his price even more.
