May 17, 200422 yr The truest Christians I know are the Amish and Quakers.? They are anti-war at all costs and the meekest people I have ever known.? They don't involve themselves in American pop-culture or the money first system of capitalism. Yeah, they're great. If being a true Christian means living like it's still the late 19th century than I'll take a pass. Besides, isn't it pretty easy to be anti-war and meek when you don't have any responsibilities when it comes to the maintenance of a nation-state? Exactly my point. Being a true Christian means not becoming a tool of worldly institutions like political parties and nations. Accountable to nobody but god. Most Christians I know are just whores for Bush (or politics in general) and care nothing about god's creation, people, or message. Sickening.
May 17, 200422 yr exactly. how is bush any more "christian" than keery anyway? it's a horsesh!t excuse to vote for him.
May 17, 200422 yr for me I would personally add in the utter raping of the environment as another reason i HATE bush. Yep, thats a real good one too. I talked to an attorney at the EPA who told me that a lot of people in the agency have resorted to back door tactics to do their job. Bush has pretty much put the thumb crush on the enviroment. But whats even worse is he has the audacity to pretend he is a good enviromental president come election time. Most Christians I know are just whores for Bush (or politics in general) and care nothing about god's creation, people, or message. Sickening. Like I said..football team. I was talking to my roommate about this and he told me about an experience he had in South America going on a missionary trip. He said he was disgusted when people who werent Chritians were denied food or assistance unless they converted. Just plain turned away. Im not saying all Christians are like this. Hell it happens in all religions. Its when you treat religion as some game that you have to win that I have problems with. exactly. how is bush any more "christian" than keery anyway? it's a horsesh!t excuse to vote for him. Bush effectivley has made a lot of policy based on his Christian beliefs. Its practically a theocracy. Kerry is a Catholic but understands that religion should play a minimal role in shaping government, following Kennedy's lead.
May 17, 200422 yr nmae Bush's christian policies. I can name twice as many against christian docterine. Bush's stance on abortion (or his way of tip toeing around it) is his only TRUE christian stance.
May 17, 200422 yr His Christian loyalties to the far right have played a large role for some of his major policies moves such as stem cell research, abortion, gay marriage, funding church programs with federal dollars, view on sex education, his education policies, and foreign policy. Now am I saying that these are direct extensons of his relgion? Of course not. But listen to his rhetoric. Its hard to deny that the religious right shapes a lot of the Bush administration. Now Im not saying this is technically correct Christians doctrines. Ive already stated this.

Just to start...what about his faith based funding which gives money to only faiths that are Christian...repeatedly denying requests from Muslims and other non-Christian groups.
