May 31, 200422 yr Author So yeah... I was one of those obnoxious Met Fans, yelling my lungs out. I had section 242 petrified Ha ha Well I know that I'm not really a great heckler or anything, but I took pride in turning the Hee Sop Choi chants into a Jae Wong Seo one. Were there any hecklers out there, that pissed you off, but then once you thought about it, you actually thought it was funny? I have to admit, I thought it was hilarious when the girl next to me said, " Here comes Braden "I take it in the Pooper" Looper from the bullpen." No... its no longer a Met crowd. We're still there... you guys just added a whole bunch of front-runner fans, who have no idea about anything before September. And of course they're not as obnoxious, becuase we are surrounded by our own kind in NY. Here we have to go back and forth with th chants... and have otyelll a whole section of Marlin Fans I love the Cuban chants... "Let's go Marlin" I love how they forget the S! First off... if you had any reading comprehension you would see that my reply was directed towards someone's previous post, and obviously meant Met fans ALWAYS show up at PPS for Marlins - Mets Games. Secondly... in case you haven't noticed... the Mets were in last place most of 2001, most of 2002, and all of 2003. I think if we were like much of the fair-weather Marlins fans, we would have stopped showing up by now. Now please tell me where I talked crap about the Marlins?
May 31, 200422 yr You're talking crap in general. Saying you love the "Cuban" chants, saying the three games where they got over 30,000 were all because of Met fans, you're acting like every fan down here is fair-weather. I don't feel like arguing right now. If I wanted to I'd go to the ESPN boards.
May 31, 200422 yr Author Conversely, where were the 30,000? Marlin crowds last July? The Marlins had more than 30,000 in the seats three times last July. Probably the 3 games the Mets came, and for the 4th... regardless... dont argue... WE ALL KNOW that place was pretty empty for a few years now, and most of last year until September Atalnta, Chicago, and Arizona. Stop talking s***. Let's see the Mets trade away their whole damn roster and still draw over 30,000. Ok, Im done talking to you, as you have worn the teal and black sunglasses for too long. Become a realist, and then maybe we can have an intelligent converstation.

I believe there are a good 15,000 TRUE Marlin fans... however... the other 15,000 Piss Me off and the "games in July mustve been vs. the Mets" was a joke... grow up.

Bandwagoners are good for sports and that's why they don't piss me off. The Marlins are just trying to get a good fan base and they had then when they won the WS but they traded it all away.

Do you live down here?
May 31, 200422 yr Author Do you live in South Florida? If yes, support the Marlins and root for them unless they play the Mets. Too many South Florida residents poitning fingers at other SF residents for not supporting the Marlins. No, I actually live in Orlando and make the trip for my Mets, win or lose. However, when I did live down there (98 - 00), I had season tickets (supported the fish, except against the Mets), so I dont feel bad when I yell at the fair weather fans now
May 31, 200422 yr I'd rather have 15,000 "fairweather" fans there alongside "true" fans than none at all. Everyone has the right to go to a game and root for the fish and have a good time as they please.

May 31, 200422 yr Author Ok, every f***in' Met and Yankee fan is a TRUE fan, right? Did I say that douche bag? No! I just have a problem with the people who have no clue who AJ Burnett is, who couldnt give two craps about the Marlins just two years ago, but now all of a sudden, can show up and yell at me to shut up and go home whenever I say "Lets Go Mets" I paid for my ticket just like they did... just one difference.. I was at games before the WS That is what I consider fairweather.... and over the last three days I've ran into WAAAAAAAAY too many people like that.
May 31, 200422 yr This is kinda off-topic but I hated the wave today. First, the Mets were making a rally why should we do a wave? But the Bandwagon was heroic in drowning out the Mets' chants. They finally did something worthwhile.

Not every fan in attendance is going to be a hardcore or have much knowledge of the game. There is the casual fan that is just trying to find something to do on a Sunday, take the kids toa game, go to their first MLB game or whatever. There are bandwagoners out there, but EVERY team has them. Even in New York

But the Bandwagon was heroic in drowning out the Mets' chants. They finally did something worthwhile. Yeah, it was kinda weird. The Mets were coming back, and here comes a wave (actually one of the most complete waves I've seen in a while), but the wave wasn't just done once it was like 4 or 5 times around. Were any of them watching the game at that point? I thought that was pretty comical, and I imagined a lot of die-hards being pretty perturbed.

I actually asked about 15 people about Joe Angel, and only 3 or 4 knew who the hell I was talking about.

It was a really nice wave and here we were losing a game. I mean if you're gonna do that, go home and watch American Idol or something.
May 31, 200422 yr Author The name calling. Nice. Go cry to mommy then. There'd be no problem here if you knew how to read AND comprehend what you read. I am really done talking to you. Is there an ignore list here?

I was at games before the WS Can I tell you to go home then? j/k Yeah, you kind of get used to some of the things they do. But, at least in the Tank, it becomes a nice little blend when the bandwagoners starts picking up alot of stuff from the die hards that sit there. It'll be a nice fan base in 5-10 years without any more bumps in the road, we'll just have to wait and see. Oh, and btw, I am thrilled at the fact that so many little kids to the game. Not only are they cute and awesome but they are going to be us in the future, and in alot higher volumes.
