May 30, 200422 yr So yeah... I was one of those obnoxious Met Fans, yelling my lungs out. I had section 242 petrified :hat Ha ha Well I know that I'm not really a great heckler or anything, but I took pride in turning the Hee Sop Choi chants into a Jae Wong Seo one. Were there any hecklers out there, that pissed you off, but then once you thought about it, you actually thought it was funny? I have to admit, I thought it was hilarious when the girl next to me said, " Here comes Braden "I take it in the Pooper" Looper from the bullpen."
May 30, 200422 yr Yeah, there was a Mets fan behind me in Section 150 that was quite annoying. Kept yelling to Pavano "whose the boss now Pavano"? and "I slept with Alyssa last night Pavano"...... It was funny the first couple times....but after the 5th inning of the same thing got old. He was giving the business to Carl when he came up to bat in the 3rd. All the Marlins fans gave it back to him when Carl hit the double. Now that was funny. A bunch of Mets fans started yelling "Let's go Mets" several times during the game, and each time all of the Marlins fans started cheering and drowned them out. It was all in good fun...didn't see any fights. I have to give it to the Mets fans down here....they are a very vocal group.
May 30, 200422 yr I have to give it to the Mets fans down here....they are a very vocal group. Yes, indeed.
May 30, 200422 yr I have to say, the Mets fans down here are much more obnoxious than in Shea. It's weird, but up in NY, they generally don't get as beligerant as they do here...
May 30, 200422 yr I wasn't able to make it to the game, but usually its a predominately Mets crowd. A home away from home game for them, was this the caselast night/ this weekend?
May 30, 200422 yr I can't imagine they've had much to cheer about in this series. We've been owning them the whole time, and it's going to continue today with Beckett on the mound. GO FISH! :thumbup

May 30, 200422 yr i once kicked a braves fan down 3 rows of seats for cussing at cabs :whistle oh you're cool now
May 30, 200422 yr Amazing... both Florida teams are playing New York teams and over 55% of the crowd in both stadiums are vocal New Yorkers... damn...
May 30, 200422 yr Amazing... both Florida teams are playing New York teams and over 55% of the crowd in both stadiums are vocal New Yorkers... damn... 55%? no way. on tv, it def sounded like a marlins crowd to me. then again, there really hasnt been a whole lot for mut fans to cheer about.
May 31, 200422 yr Author No... its no longer a Met crowd. We're still there... you guys just added a whole bunch of front-runner fans, who have no idea about anything before September. And of course they're not as obnoxious, becuase we are surrounded by our own kind in NY. Here we have to go back and forth with th chants... and have otyelll a whole section of Marlin Fans I love the Cuban chants... "Let's go Marlin" I love how they forget the S!
May 31, 200422 yr Author And just for the record... the Met fans always come out, even when there's not much to cheer about, alkazoid, especially since the team hasn't played good baseball in 4 years. Conversely, where were the 30,000 Marlin crowds last July?
May 31, 200422 yr And just for the record... the Met fans always come out, even when there's not much to cheer about Yeah right...I remember some pretty dismal crowds growing up in NY. Crowds were so small they were all invited on Kiner's Korner after the game... We'll see what your crowds look like in July when the Mets are out of the race... :hat
May 31, 200422 yr Conversely, where were the 30,000 Marlin crowds last July? The Marlins had more than 30,000 in the seats three times last July.

Secondly... in case you haven't noticed... the Mets were in last place most of 2001, most of 2002, and all of 2003. I think if we were like much of the fair-weather Marlins fans, we would have stopped showing up by now.

Secfodnly... in caser you haven't noticed... the Mets were in last place most of 2001, most of 220, and all of 2003. I think if we were like much of the fair-weather Marlins fans, we would have stopped showing up by now. Why would you sign up on a Marlins message board just to talk crap about the Marlins? Does it make you feel good? Do you think someone is going to agree with you? Fact is, Mets have tons of bandwagoners. Just like every other team.
May 31, 200422 yr Author Conversely, where were the 30,000 Marlin crowds last July? The Marlins had more than 30,000 in the seats three times last July. Probably the 3 games the Mets came, and for the 4th... regardless... dont argue... WE ALL KNOW that place was pretty empty for a few years now, and most of last year until September

I asked a simpe question in the beginning. It was answered once, and then Marlin fans talked crap. All I have done is back up my previous statements.
May 31, 200422 yr I had a loud Mets fan begind my seat on Friday. The guy was ready to explode at any time. Thanks God, our boys keep them in their place the whole series

Let's see the Mets trade away their whole damn roster and still draw over 30,000.

If yes, support the Marlins and root for them unless they play the Mets. Too many South Florida residents poitning fingers at other SF residents for not supporting the Marlins.
