1. The game live works for teams that have mulitple broadcast partners. One of the stations are bound to forget to turn off the live streaming. It usually won't work for teams that only have one or two affiliates listed, however.
2. Dontrell seemed focused yesterday. He really only gave up 2 HARD hit balls. (The Delgado double, and the Beltran HR). Other than that, it's his defense that let him down. Now, if Cabrera or Hanley have his baby on their mind, he might have something else to worry about. LOL
3. I feel for you guys. The fact that the Mets got a fossilized El Duque for that bum last year still amazes me. I'll never understand why teams completely ignore a guy's history just because he has a nice fastball.
4. I'm back... and as usual, not to taunt, but to enjoy some fun Marlins - Mets games. Looking forward to this week's games even though I won;t be attending for the first time in a over a decade. (Never fear, I'll be in attendance Memorial Day Weekend) Good luck, and I'm sure we'll be chatting in the next few days. I give it about 10 seconds before I get the "Oh great, here come the Mutts Fans" response, but I think I've posted here for enough years for you guys to realize I'm not trolling. Just wanted to say that...
5. So Can I send one to all of you guys? (Just kidding)
6. Personally, I would have given it to the Big hurt over Thome. Thome faded after his blistering start.....
7. None of the Mets fans said that. A Marlins fan said the Mets can not replace Floyd, Delgado, or Lo Duca. I think the Mets can spend on pitching, and fill in with the rest.
8. Because I am interested in baseball, and I'm not naive enough to think that I can't appreciate a baseball team in my own backyard even though I am a Mets fan. In case you haven't noticed... I've been lurking this board for a long time.
9. Luckily for the Mets... they don't have a cheap owner. We can afford to replace Delgado and Lo duca when the time comes. All the other spots can be filled adequately internally. Just because you don't know about the prospects doesn't mean they don't exist. Also, I wasn't counting on humber... I said he was an option for next year. It's not that hard to understand.
10. You're exactly right. Do they have a pitcher with an ERA under 5 on this team? (sarcasm) Basically they have nothing. I didn't expect them to advance even with a healthy Pedro and/or El Duque. Tom Glavine and John Maine and Steve Trachsel at this point are their most dependable pitchers, and neither of them can hit 93 on the gun either. Dodgers in 4 games unless Lowe, Kuo, and Penny implode, and i wouldn't count on that. Maine can run it up to 95, Perez can run it up to 98, Glavine doesn't need to, and Trax is a goner after this season. PLUS, Philip Humber is MUCH better than Mike Pelfrey, so that's two guys ready to step in next season if needed... Plus Alay soler can become more like Contreras with a 2nd year under his belt, Heilman can try to go back to being a starter, and we have a few fireballers that should start next season in AA. Don't let your lack of knowledge get the best of you....
11. Waahhhh! Waahhhh! The Mets ended our season. Let's root against them. Waah! Waah! Lo Duca is overrated because he hated being a Marlin. Waaah Waaaah Mike Jacobs choked this year. It's Delgado's fault! Wahhhhh I mean... why root for the team in your division that played well all year (which would give your final standing a little more credence), when you can bitch and moan about your guys being home cuz of a dumb ex-manager? I knew I shouldn;t have rooted for you guys in 03. Your bitterness is much funnier than the Mets chances since El Duque got hurt.... (And LMAO at the one who thought they were chanting Loooooo)
12. He can keep that scorelees streak going for all I care. He didn't get the W against the Mets, and I love that.
13. Guess that didn't work out for ya....
14. The greatest pitcher of our generation outside of Clemens is called Bozo the clown? Were you even alive between 97 and 2002?
15. I like to stir the pot sometimes.... http://nysportsday.com/themofo/showthread....4141#post614141
16. Wow, Orlando FTL yet again. :plain :plain :plain :plain :plain :plain You would think all of Florida would get the Marlins. FLORIDA Marlins . Central Florida is Braves/Yankees/Cubs/Red Sox territory. Marlins are an after-thought at best. I would put Central FL more as a Braves/Red Sox/Cubs territory. I've actually met more MEt fans than Yankee fans in my 5 years here. Anyway... look forward to hearing you all yell at me like usual at the stadium this weekend.
17. Hialeah!!! It has metrorail service that will leave you next ot the park a la Yankee Stadium and we have a nice hispanic population. Remember that the Miami Arena was in Overtown and Hialeah is not OVertown. Let's get it done Miami Arena was never in Overtown. Just right outside of it. Sooooory. It is pretty darn close to Overtown. sh*t, the Metrorail stop is even called "Overtown Arena" LOL I know. I ride the metrorail everyday to school. I see the Miami Arena just sit there too and remember all the great things I have witnessed occur in there. For an arena thats been around for only about 17 years now, its got quite a bit of sports history in it. History? What history? The heat losing to the Knicks in that arena in 98 and 99? Losing to the bulls in 96 and 97? Or the Panthers losing the Cup to the Avalanche? LOL, regardless, they should move the Marlins to Orlando? I could use a baseball-related job. I am talking about all the great Heat playoffs that went on there. Or one of the greatest playoff goals in the history of the NHL with Bill Lindsay going Bobby Orr on the Bruins to get the GWG. So was I. Losing to the Bulls twice, and the Knicks twice in four years of MIAMI ARENA Playoof basketball isn't so great. Neither was the Panthers CHOKE JOB in the Stanley Cup Finals. (The year of the rat... what a joke)

19. That's definitely not Billy.... I had a beer with him the other night.... think someone in their late 20's
20. Sloane says "we thought that without Carlos the Mets were a fourth-place club and we thought that with Carlos they were still a fourth-place club." Hojo says "I thought that without Carlos the Marlins were a last-place club and we thought that with Carlos they were still a last-place club." Just teasing... I just really hate Sloane
21. Was just on msn and saw this article about the Wildcard. The guys makes some good points, but totally lost me when he said that the NEW YORK METS HAD THE BEST STARTING PITCHING IN THE WILD CARD RACE!!! The Mets?? Cmon. Houston I can see, FLorida would be my pick, but the METS?? Am i Missing something? 917087 Can you even read? He CLEARLY said Starting Pitchers 1 through 3 Houston & FL Starting Pitcher 1through 5 Mets And he's right You?re probably thinking Florida and Houston, right? And yes, they are 1-2 in the NL in rotation ERA. But their edge down the stretch isn?t as big as you might think. Both have three dominant starters ? exactly what you want in a short playoff series. But this is still is the regular season, when five starters are necessary. The Astros miss Brandon Backe in the No. 4 spot, and Ezequiel Astacio and Wandy Rodriguez are a combined 10-12 in 28 starts. The latter will be skipped in the rotation whenever possible the rest of the way. Justin Vargas is 4-1 with five starts for Florida, but the Marlins have inserted Ismael Valdez back into the rotation, replacing Brian Moehler, as they didn?t win any of Moehler?s last seven starts. Meanwhile, the Mets have the luxury of trying to fit six starters into the rotation now that Steve Trachsel has returned. With Jae Seo surging, the Mets have the deepest rotation heading down the stretch.
22. Git r dun. :plain 916952 Yes, please.... in time to pitch next weekend
23. Cmon... you guys know you never get as riled up as when a "Let's Go Mets" chant starts up down in the stadium...
24. Hojo replied to a post in a topic in Miami Marlins
Mets took care of business, winning 6-0. Now on to Colorado, where ANYTHING can happen. (I really hate the baseball played there)
25. he is the one who got fooled into trading scott kazmir for zambrano..... looks like he is the moron. 872582 That's incorrect... he was already fired for a year when that trade was made. That was more of a weak GM, a meddling owner's son, and a high powered Scouts idea. And now they have all been demoted. Regardless, it sounds to me that Phillips was actually praising Beinfest... but don;t let reading comprehension stop you guys. It never does on this board, anyway. LOL
