Should Fans vote for the MLB All Star Teams?

Featured Replies

umm yeah it counts for homefield advantage in the WS which can make difference.

last year wasn't a good example but homefield is a definite advantage.

unless they're not doing it this year??

yes, the All Star Game is the fan's game and the fans should decide who gets to start. MLB has the right approach to the game and it is more genuine than any of the other major sports' all star games.

In hockey, it is realistic, but they play softly. In the NFL, it is like a game of touch football, and in the NBA there is no defense what so ever.

i voted yes but sometimes i feel that it should be a no....yes because you wanna go to the all-star game to see the players you love...but no because sometimes the guy that deserves it more doesnt get to start because he is not as popular..

its a popularity contest ... dont get me wrong but for example a guy like Lew Ford who is tearing it up this year play, instead of an Ichiro who statistically has lesser numbers than Ford but overall is a better player... i'd take Ichiro

I dont mind it ... thats why there is a bench and thats why Managers choose the bench

1) bonds / griffey / sosa

or

2) berkman / finley / add whoever you want here
