I Hate Kobe's Game

Featured Replies

Ok, this has nothing to do with Colorado or anything like that, and I'm sure everyone will be on his jock b/c of last night, but hear me out.....

This finals is the only time I've really paid any attention to Kobe for the last couple of years, and I've come to a conclusion: I hate his game.

Granted, the shot he made last night was incredible, and he is an offensive force to be dealt with, but he has absolutly no game sense whatsoever, and I think it hurts LA more than it helps alot, especially in this series.

For every "How'd he do that" shot Kobe makes, I've seen him take two that were ridiculous and had no chance of even remotely being makeable. One instance that comes to mind is a 33 foot turn-around while being double teamed last night with 14 on the shot clock and 3 teammates wide open.

The only consistently impressive aspect of Kobe's game that I've seen in this series is his ability to come off 700 screens to make relatively open jumpers in an offensive set that was designed for him and him only. He doesn't create, nor does he drive and dish.

What's worse ids that the tying shot last nigt only further reinforces his play. Add to this that anyone can go for 25 when theygo 10 for 30 and I have no other choice but to think that Kobe is highly overrated.

And Al Michaels comparing him to Jordan was criminal.

That is all.

Did you stay tuned for overtime? He took over.

But he definitely is no Jordan.

Yeah, but I also think alot of the reason they didn't win outright in regulation was b/c of Kobe, as well.

I can't wait for Kobe to go to an average team. He could go for 6 or 60 a night and his team will still suck.

I'd like to see Kobe without Shaq. See how great is then. When people don't have to pay attention to Shaq and he has no one to pass to. Take Shaq away from him and he's worse than T-Mac.

I started to appreciate Kobe Bryant's game last year when Shaq didn't play. Love him or hate, Bryant is the best overall guard in the NBA right now. I hate it when people compare him to Jordan. I don't hate Kobe like most people do, I just hate Shaq and the team he plays for.

Lakers started off 3-9 last year and then Shaq came back. Proving he can't do it by himself.

Kobe has mad skills....but he has a 'god complex' especially in the 4th.

You mean Mad Skillz? ya whatever it is.

kobe can shoot.

he can pass.

he can dribble.

he can get off screens.

he can drive to the hoop.

he can play defense.

how motivated he is to do each of those in a given game usually varies.

if he were to ever get truly motivated to do all of those every night....he would be the best player in teh game by far.

Kobe is awesome. I have a feeling he is going to make shots in the situation he was in the other night. He is that clutch.

Now, I do agree that he does do things during the games that hurt his team, but they always seem to work through it. Kobe could be the best player in the game right now, because not only does he score, he plays defense as well. However, I would take Duncan or KG anyday.

really?

Kobe actually plays D

Kobe is much better on defense than T-Mac. I do agree that Shaq helps, but I think if you take Shaq away, Kobe is still awesome.

Yeah, Kobe is better than T-Mac on the defensive side. There are probably more Kobe Haters than Lakers fans.

Kobe actually plays D when he wants to.
