June 13, 200422 yr Wouldnt doubt it happening....but The Passion would weep for days. And I would be beside myself with joy.
June 13, 200422 yr 'Tek aint going anywhere either. He is negotiating right now. I can't remember his name but don't the Sox have a damn good AAA catcher? Maybe package deal. I don't think it would ever happening just throwing it out there
June 13, 200422 yr Yeah, I've heard about him and he's supposed to be Tek's heir apparent so don't bet on it.

June 13, 200422 yr WTF? Mirabelli is worth a reliever, that is it. And not a great one at that. If the Sawks want Pavs, they are going to have to ante up. And that is quite a sum to throw out for Pavs - so he aint going anywhere. I dont see much to this right now...but what do I know?
June 13, 200422 yr Mirabelli? Ugh. Nate Bump is just the guy the Sox would go after. A groundball pitcher for their bandbox who ranks highly on all the advanced metrics that a sabermetric club is known to follow.

June 13, 200422 yr And is 33, makes a million and is nothing more than a AAAA player who has been taught plate discipline. Treanor and Willingham are just as good, if not better.

I was being sarcastic hence the smilie. I know hes nothing more than a backup catcher and wont really solve any of our hitting woes.
June 13, 200422 yr I have been hearing the same thing while watching the sox games.... no way will pavano be involved in a deal involving mirabeli...sorry miarbeli is solid.....but i am afraid of what he would do if he were the everyday catcher.....he puts up good numbers but that is in limited playing time...ramon castro anyone??? i dont think mirabeli is the answer

He has 20 RBI in 115 PAs...in the top 3 in the NL...and doing so while hitting in the back of the line up. Defensively his Caught Stealing % is 5th in the NL (just behind Castro)....and better than Javy and Pudge. We really only need a serviceable back-up catcher, as Redmond is doing very well in the starting role. Mirabelli would fit very nicely in the back-up role.
June 13, 200422 yr FYI, the "heir apparent's" name is Kelly Shoppach. kelly shppach is untouchable the sox wont trade him for anything really unless an awesome deal comes along he will take over for veritek for next season
June 13, 200422 yr Why don't we just start Treanor more often? Sure. After today's performance the confidence meter just went up a couple of notches. :thumbup
