June 20, 200422 yr Ramp, I am disappointed. I expect something a little more sensible from you. Ubi, well, you are downgrading yourself with every post. Who cares is Nunez pinched ran or not? The point Rferry is trying to make, that you both are blind to, is that the CAVALRY IS HERE. This is it - barring you sacrifice our future for the now. Getting Beltran is NOT necessarily the answer. What if he doesnt get it done here (Which I am highly suspicious of)? Not to mention, you will have to give up premium talent to get him and you wont be able to re-sign him. Then you got our starters' contracts to worry about and if you cant re-sign one of them, the talent you gave away to get Beltran is possibly not going to be there to shore up your starting rotation for the guy you couldnt resign because you were trying to win it all by outspending your opponents. The Marlins are NOT the Yankees! They cant just go out and get a bat to strengthen their team. This team will have to win with what it has. Now, if you want to call up a minor leaguer and give him a shot - go for it. But you have yet to make that argument. In fact, you have yet to say anything short of mispelling a verb repeatedly.
June 20, 200422 yr Conine had his chance in the 8th to prove everyone wrong. With Nunez on 2nd and 1 out, here's what Conine accomplished: Ball 1 Strike 1 looking Strike 2 looking Strike 3 swinging....a 95 mph heater that he was very late on....a very weak looking AB. Now you just making things up. Nunez had a double? Was this spring training? Listen Conine's the best leftfielder we got at the moment. If you want the team to rent Beltran or a 40yo whose hit just one home run this month (Finley) then I suggest you call and upgrade your ticket plan. Lowell was on 2nd and Nunez pinch ran for him. Pwned. :lol
