Game 1 Topes Win 5-4 The topes overcame a 4 run deficit in the 7th inning with 5 runs in the top half of the 7th. Mike Colangelo went 2-3 with a double Admin Sutton went 1-3 with a 3-run homer. The Starter Michael McNutt went 5 innings giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 2 hits. Mike Neu got the save pitching a perfect 7th with 2 strike outs. Game 2 Topes lost 3-0 The topes offense was held to only 3 hits. Scott Sanders started the game giving up 3 earned runs in 4 innings. Lowering his era to a studly 10.44 Nate Bump pitched 2 perfect innings in relief, striking out 2. Carolina Mudcats lost 9-0 Trevor Hutchinson made his return but only went 2 innings giving up 7 earned runs on 6 hits and 4 walks. The Mudcats were held to 1 hit. Jupiter Jupiter won 6-0 Scott Olsen was absolutely unhittable tonight. Faced off against Mets top prospect Scott Kazmir (who pitched 6 scoreless innings.) Olsen went 7 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits and 1 walk while striking out 11. Olsen lowered his ERA to 3.43. Matt Overman pitched the last 2 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits. Rex Rundgren went 2-4 with a double, and Adam Bonner went 2-2. Greensboro Bats won 5-4 scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th. Starter Adam Bostick went 6.2 innings giving up 4 earned runs on 5 hits and 3 walks. relievers Scott Nester and Chris Resop combined for 2.1 scoreless innings. Both of those guys have been outstanding for Greensboro. Pablo Sosa has been hitting well as of late, as he went 2-4 with a double. His average now stands at .288. Jai Miller went 1-3 with a homer. His average is hovering right above the Mendoza line at .204. Jamestown Jamestown won 3-1 Starter Zachary Lerch went 5 innings giving up 1 run on 3 hits with 2 walks and 3 K's. Daniel Barone, Craig Lybarger, and Patrick Hogan combined to pitch 4 scoreless innings. Hogan got the save. Hogan is from this year's draft out of Clemson, him and Brad McCann were both drafted this year out of Clemson and are now playing for Jamestown.
