Expansion Draft

Featured Replies

with the bobcats expansion draft tuesday, what do you think there chances of taking EJ off the heats hands are?

I think its not out of the picture. EJ may have a bad contract but he can still play. as an expansion team he would be like the texans taking boselli. also, he did shine in charlotte he would be a hometown fav.

The Bobcats only have a third of the salary cap of the rest of the league. They can't afford guys like EJ.

Here's a quote straight out of Bickerstaff's mouth for all you Heat fans:

"We aren't taking any big contracts," coach and general manager Bernie Bickerstaff said Monday. "We aren't taking any contracts that are longer than two years."

Just like the Florida Marlins / Colorado Rockies expansion draft or the Tampa DRays / Arizona DBacks draft.

Each team leaves a few number of players that the new teams can draft and make a team from.

Although this one is a bit more complicated because the NBA has a salary cap and a lot of bad contracts and teams are trying to convince the Bobcats to take their high-contract players by offering them draft picks and players.
