Bill Robinson

Featured Replies

Bill Robinson is a great guy but I think it would put a spark in the hitters if the FO made a change in the hitting coach. Hitting has been a problem all year. Robinson thinks that all they need to do is stay confident and things will get better. Well, it's obvious that none of our hitters has any confidence left. It's time for a change.

No, they needs one more hitter in the lineup to drive in runs like pudge did last year. :geek

I would agree with that if only one or two of the guys were slumping but this is a collective slump...EVERYBODY is in a slump and they need a change!

Not resigning Pudge was a terrible mistake. He was well worth the 3 year 30 million dollars although I know the Marlins couldn't afford it.

Not re-signing Fudge was NOT a mistake. This team CANNOT afford him - not at $40M for 4 years.

Firing Robinson is not the answer. This team is pressing hard enough as it is and firing Robinson would really put a dark cloud over the clubhouse. Besides, isnt Choi hitting pretty well? Isnt AGon being somewhat respectable? JP, Castillo, Lowell, Cabrera - all are performing around their expected levels, just struggling from time to time. Even Conine is coming back around.

The real reason the Marlins are suffering is they are pushing too hard. Everyone is. Even McKeon is doing damage - he is micromanaging this team. Choi bunting in the bottom of the 9th? If you need one run, sure, but not when you need two runs and your most consistent hitter of the night is up at the plate. Also, JP and Castillo have not been getting on base - that isnt because of Robinson. We arent playing small ball. And that has more to do with inconsistent starting pitching - as we have had to start off games with a 3, 4, 5 or more run deficit.

Robinson is not the problem. This team will start to win when it gets good, consistent starting pitching.

the team cannot afford pudge? i hate that, everyone else in the baseball world says it was a mistake. but because a few marlins fans who are in denial, it makes it ok that we didn't resign the MVP of the playoffs last year. Pudge is the best player in baseball. He's the 2nd best catcher of all time right behind Bench. The end.

No offense, but there have been like 5+ threads about Bill Robinson in the past day.

And you want 'props' or something for pointing out the obvious? You dont think our front office personnel and the coaches, scouts, players, fans, players' wives and pets and childern all knew that? Bottom line: Marlins could not afford Fudge this season. See Ramp's post - it would have cost us MORE than money to keep him at the price he wanted. And Fudge is not a player you build around because he is in the twilight of his career. You just dont know what you are going to get from him healthwise.

Denial? You are the one in denial.

Basically we all to realize that this team cannot afford to win another title. The minute you all deal with it the better off you will be.

Not true....we should have kept Dlee with the 7 milion we offered Pudge. Ever think of that!!!!

DLee wasnt a fit for this team, both money wise and our ballpark

DLee is a different player out of the PRO, its a fact

.280 30hr and 90rbi is not worth $7mil, imo

and the fact he rarely hit when it count makes it alot better he isnt here

Choi is holding his own anyway

Choi has done better than expected and he has replaced Lee on this team.

Lee's Fielding Percentage: .996 (3 errors)

Choi's Fielding Percentage: .993 (4 errors)

That's pretty damn good, plus he has made some incrdible plays to save countless errors from Mikey, Alex, and Luis like Lee has done in past seasons.
