Kinda weird how the marlins can be 1.5 games out and in third place.

Uh, make that 2 games out and in 4th place (assuming the Phillies lose)

unfortunately theres 4 teams within 2 games of the lead... the odds are not in our favor

This plays to the fish's secret strength - being the underdog. Its been my opinion for sometime now that they somehow need to be down and getting dissed by the press before taking off.

This team, since its inception, has always worn the mantle of underdog proudly and used it as a motivator.

...to have a losing record in 8/10 seasons.

Hehe. Sorry. Don't mean to be a negative Nelly.

GO FISH!!!!!! WOO :D

I agree. This team HAS to be an underdog or it wont win. This team needs to feel disrespected and almost dare other teams to disrespect them in order to start winning themselves. Case in point, last season and the beginning of this season.

Right now, the Marlins are slipping. They have underachieved all season long. When they realize that the cavalry is HERE and that no trade will help them and that no trade is coming, they will get their shizzle together.

We got the NL East right where we want them - ahead of us in the middle of the season as opposed to the end. Look, this team climbed out of the cellar last year to win it all. Why? Pitching. Look at the second half last season and you see that our pitching got better and better. We struggled mightily the first half. In fact, we even lost AJ. This team can do it again - and it is showing signs of snapping out of this funk. The last couple of starts have gotten to the 6th inning.

We got plenty of time. Relax people - this is a marathon, not a sprint. The Mets are playing good - for now, but their weak bullpen and their pitching will catch up with them. The Phillies are playing about as good as they can right now - I hate to burst every anal-yst's bubble on that. The Braves are overachieving and are hot. It wont last. We, on the other hand, are playing almost as bad as the Expos have been. And we are still right in the race.

I like our chances...

If the fish are over .500 this season they will win the world series. Stats show that. The marlins have won the world series in 100% of the years they finished over .500. :teach

2 games out....does anybody remember last year's standings when the Dodgers had the wildcard lead? 8 games out!

oh please. this s*** of "the team can only play motivated when behind" is a load of crap. if falling behind is what it takes than your ass shouldnt be a professional athlete.
