July 10, 200422 yr During the game tonight Dave and Boog were talking on the radio about the Expos last year and how they were legitimately in the wild card race but they could not call up ANY of their star prospects no matter what because MLB refused to pay their salaries, so they basically could not use their farm system at all. Pretty old news, but I still found it interesting.
July 10, 200422 yr That franchise and their fans have been treated like crap. They need to put the Expos in downtown Montreal. The Maryland/Virginia area doesn't need a team an hour's drive away from the yard.
July 10, 200422 yr I think what they were referring to is, the roster expansion in september. Teams can expand to up to 40 player in September, and when that time rolled around MLB told the Expos that they couldn't call expand their roster because they wouldn't pay their salaries.
