Last season the Marlins were ranked last in pre-playoff polls on sportsnation to win the World Series among the 8 playoff teams. The Pistons, while not being given much of a chance to win, were given a pretty damn good chance to get there.
July 20, 200422 yr yeah, NO ONE gave the marlins a chance, people where making crazy predictions for game one. I remember some guy on ATR saying it was going to be a blow out because Wells was much better than Penny and that Penny was garbage.... So...what a turnaround. I remember seeing the cartoon pictures they showed at the end of the games, i've been looking for them forever,..../
July 20, 200422 yr Yeah but once the Marlins got to the World Series, it was well known that they had a legitimate shot. Most people thought the Pistons had no chance at all. And the won easily.
July 20, 200422 yr and upset team is basically a euphimism for "worst champion", or "team that won mostly on luck"
