August 2, 200421 yr ...We are 6 games back of the Braves for the Division and 5 1/2 games back of the Padres for the Wild-Card. If we start winning and either of those 2 teams start losing we can make a run for it.

August 2, 200421 yr To win the NL east we have to beat the Braves on head to head matchups and thats not going to be easy. Also we have to stop playing down to the level of the lesser teams. And a we need a little more inspiration, heart and energy, maybe one the new guys can bring that, I am hoping that Lo Duca is that guy.
August 2, 200421 yr Author I was hearing a guy call Hanks show and he had a good point. He said as of last Thursday, we were 3 1/2 games out prior to Fridays game w/ the Expos which isnt alot. Then, the Braves won 2 and we lost 2 (lost 1/2 game too since we didnt get to finish game and Braves won on Sunday). So the Braves picked up almost 3 games in 3 days. They will slow done at some time and we need to start winning, we cant turn the table on them and pick up as many games. Even though Kim Bokamper said today that those only 5% of teams that were 6-11 games out as of July 31 came back to win their division, i believe we can do it.
August 3, 200421 yr We need to beat easy teams- like Arizonia 489969 And the Expos :o 490668 :plain
August 3, 200421 yr Let's just f*** everyone up 490708 Word. If we go on a roll for a couple weeks, we'll be back in business.
August 3, 200421 yr Right now the Fish just need to start winning consistently(sp) and not start scoreboard watching until the end of the month.

Dont discount the fact that before Game 2 of the Expos, we made our deals. That messed things up mentally for this team. Game 3 we didnt have our full arsenal out there. You are going to see a much, much different team over the course of the rest of the season. More punch in the offense and a much stronger, gnastier bullpen. The other thing I think we are going to see is our starters stepping up with Lo Duca's game calling and defensive presence. The pitchers will feel a lot more confident throwing to him and will perform better.
