DAVIE, Fla. (CNN) -- Former baseball player Jose Canseco was arrested Friday at his home in Davie, Fla., for violating probation, Lt. Bill Bamford of the Davie Police Department told CNN.

According to Bamford, Canseco was arrested for testing positive for steroids in violation of the terms of his probation.

Canseco was under house arrest for previously violating probation on assault charges that stemmed from a 2001 brawl at a Miami Beach nightclub.

The former slugger was being processed at a Broward County Jail substation, according to a spokeswoman for the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

Didn't The Late Lamented Cliff Floyd say that 40 percent of players in the majors used steroids? Then again, what would HE know about it?
