Off Season

I know everybody has high hopes but after watching that C**P I have decided this isn't our year.

However it is my opinion that we do have a good ball club capable of winning and winning big next year but how many of or star players are out of contract and can we realisticly keep all of them?

if our owner would spend some damn money we could keep everyone :plain

He should lose more money than he already loses? If enough fans don't support the team, it's not his fault.

Loria spent money this past offseason to keep Luis and Lowell. He'll spend money next offseason to keep 1 or 2 more important parts. He's trying but there's only so much money he can lose.

him losing money, is his problem, go buy a team that wont lose you money then, he needs to realize a 50M dollar payroll isnt going to win you a WS every year.

but dont trade away key players becouse you cant afford it, if you aint willing to spend the cash, you shouldnt own a sports franchise.

Nobody is going to buy the Marlins and spend wildly because everyone would lose money. Facts are we don't draw enough and we also don't make enough off ticket sales.

Loria is a good owner from where I sit.

Admin your 99.9 % right ,why in the hell would a guy keep pouring money into a lost cause with poor fan support and an absolutely horrible Stadium lease . He is in a Lose/Lose situation with that combo . As for his performance as an owner I think his GM is the man making things happen. But chosing the right guy like Beinfest is what makes someone a good owner .

Beinfest makes the moves, but Loria allows them to happen; if he wasn't willing to shell out the money then these moves wouldn't be taking place.

As for this offseason I expect to lose Benitez and Pavano, and, depending on the financial situation, possibly even AGonz. Wilson's been doing a fine job.

I rooted for the Marlins from Day One. And I stay with them as a fan.

I also rooted for the Brooklyn Dodgers when the team slogan was "Wait until next year."

I'm not fickle. But, I do appreciate a competitive team. Thought the Marlins had a competitive team this year... maybe it will still happen.

But two issues make me uncomfortable:

1. Florida baseball fans support a Winner only.

2. The new cure-all baseball stadium will not be built "on-time" because of

political nonsense and time and cost over-runs.

Loria had a nice idea. Henry did, too.

Huisenga knew when he made a mistake and dumped it.

if our former owner would give our current owner some stadium revenue...

I hope Pavano comes back. LoDuca, Enc, Redmond, Benitez, Koch, Mota, Valdez I don't care as long as we keep Pavano and re-sign Beckett and Burnett.

A 180 million dollar payroll doesnt win the series every year either
