Posted September 9, 200420 yr Today your World Champion Florida Marlins ended their 9 game franchise tying winning streak. Ismael Valdez put up a solid game but the offense just couldn't come through. It was a tough loss and if the Houston Astros win tonight we could be 3 games behind. However all is not over, and the Marlins are still in the race, being only 2 games behind. Pierre went 2 for 3 today and expanded his hitting streak to 16 games. The Cubs are our next obstacle and it's going to be a tough stretch. The Marlins have to remain hot and it would be to their favor if the Astros choke. :marlins
September 9, 200420 yr Winning streaks have to end. Now they can go out and start a new one. :thumbup
September 9, 200420 yr I think both teams, Astros and Marlins, have tests comming up The Fish have the Cubs and 6 more against Hotlanta The Astros have 6 left against the Cards. Its just a matter on who wins more, and we have more games to play, So we do in fact control our own destiny

September 9, 200420 yr If we get too hot and we deflated later that would really suck. Imagine if we held the Wild Card but choked in the last few games. I think getting the loss now is ok because we can regroup and get some wins and we're certainly still in this thing.
September 9, 200420 yr i was a bit dissapointed when i heard it. the game was early so i didnt get to watch it. but if anyone can pull thru and start another winning streak, the fish can. theyve been thru tough times, and hardly anyone believes they can make it, except the fans. but i have faith. the Marlins are hard workers, and i know they wont let this loss get em down.
September 9, 200420 yr all is not lost, 6 games against a struggling Cubs team is alot better than 6 against the cards, do u think so??
September 9, 200420 yr True dat, bacca! But by then the Mets may have tanked so bad we may not have to face another last place team.
September 10, 200420 yr If we do not win at LEAST one of the games in the doubleheader our momentum will be totally shot and our playoff chances will look dim
