September 12, 200422 yr Gagne 2003 stats Mando 2004 Stats the big difference is the K's i know he doesn't have a good shot, but if he breaks an ERA of 1 wow
September 12, 200422 yr Gagne had a lot more hype with that huge streak while our boy Benitez is kind of floating under the radar. But he's had one of the better seasons by a closer in the last several years, and with no starting pitcher being the clear favorite, you'd have to think Benitez will get plenty of votes.
September 12, 200422 yr Their's a better field of canidates this year than their was last year IMO, plus it's highly unlikely they'd give it a closer two times in a row.
September 12, 200422 yr I think Benitez being in contention for a Cy Young will actually end up hurting Pavano because it will take votes away from Pavano.
September 13, 200422 yr He should get consideration with how consistently OUTRAGEOUSLY dominating he has been this season. But he won't.
September 13, 200422 yr Author He should get votes. Doubt he wins. 555335[/snapback] i agree that's what im sayin
September 13, 200422 yr He should get the Rolaids awards, and a good amount of Cy Young votes. But won't win it.
