October 13, 200422 yr It's easy to understand why John Kerry's Democrat supporters like the NJDC are on the attack - they need to divert attention from John Kerry's book that calls Arafat a "role model" and a "statesman" and his otherwise dismal record on issues that matter to Jewish Americans. These desperate Kerry supporters have reached a new low, however, with a video that depicts a cartoon Vice President Cheney being beheaded, as well as mocking the Jewish members of President Bush's defense and anti-terrorism team. Ken Goldstein, an academic at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who monitors the Jewish vote, said the ad shocked him. "This ad is disgusting - and you will never ever see me say that about a campaign," Goldstein said. Especially offensive, he said, is Cheney's decapitated head rolling into a bucket marked "Miami-Dade votes" and pleading, "I want a deferment." "I'm saddened, disappointed and offended," said Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League. "It pits Christians against Jews, it uses stereotypes we should know better about projecting." Click here for more details on this new ad: http://www.jta.org/page_view_story.asp?str...ize=Jewish+News
October 13, 200422 yr How is this a Kerry ad? Why did you put in the thread that it is a Kerry ad? Its the National Jewish Democrat Councel. And who knows what the actual link is.

One, the quote you have isn't in that article anywhere and in the article, it makes no mention this is a Kerry ad. It is just anti-bush. Does that mean all green party ads and green party candidates are pro-kerry because they are anti-bush?

Does that mean all green party ads and green party candidates are pro-kerry because they are anti-bush? 590543 Green ads? There is such a thing? 590558 I am sure there are third party ads some where. Also non-partisan ads, or intrest groups for pro-choice, or something along those lines. Even though they may be anti-Bush because of those policies that doesn't make them pro-Kerry by default. It works the other way to.

There is such a thing? 590558 I am sure there are third party ads some where. Perhaps, perhaps, but that's not what you were claiming - you quite explicitly used the term "Green party". I've seen no green party ads, which is not to say they don't exist. If you could produce a film clip of one it would bolster the credibility of your claim considerably. 590572 Greens to part-fund ads opposing war on Iraq Couldn't find a clip, but its from their website, so I think it is legit.
October 13, 200422 yr The "disgusting ad" Okay here it is. For one, its not an ad, its a cartoon. Not once does it bring up or say "Kerry" or "Edwards". Which if it was a Kerry ad it would. So Accord your replying to this cartoon is what is disgusting and pathetic. Did you even watch it? Did you even know what you are talking about? You credibility is waining. This is a spoof, I don't see what is conterversial. At the worst it is as conterversial and an Eminem music video.
October 13, 200422 yr Greens to part-fund ads opposing war on Iraq Couldn't find a clip, but its from their website, so I think it is legit. 590582 Probably because if you read the web page they explicitly say its a press ad, not video like the dem attack ad. 590589 I said an ad, never anything about tv or video ads. :shifty And this isn't a Dem attack ad, watch it for god sakes before talking about it! Do you want to lose your credibility too?
October 13, 200422 yr Okay I see it, it is a Dem group. It doesn't make it a Dem ad though. And it is not an ad, it is a cartoon. It is a cartoon made by a group, not the DNC. If it was from the DNC then it would be a dem cartoon. If we say this is a Dem cartoon, then that is basically saying any hollywood movie made by a director who is a republican is a republican movie.
October 13, 200422 yr Oh brother. I just watched it. Talk about blatantly over reacting. Its a frikkin spoof. No worse than the stuff we see in the political humor section all the time.

If it was from the DNC then it would be a dem cartoon. 590615 When might we expect a response from the DNC condemning it as disgusting and tastless? The dems disavowed the rogue central FL dem group that put out the flyer advocating killing Rumsfeld. 590636 This isn't disgusting and tasteless, did you watch it? It is a spoof. I think it portrays d*** "F-bomb" Cheney down to the "k" quite well. Its nothing worse than Jib-Jab. Shows bush as a texas hick. And a old jewish woman against Bush's policies, which tends to be very accurate. What is tasteless in this cartoon?

The DNC can't have it both ways. Decry 3rd party ads when they attack your candidate, then stand by when this crap comes out from what could be considered, at the very least, Democratically aligned groups.
October 13, 200422 yr This board is becoming overly tedious. 590781 The board? The whole freakin country! I can't wait for this crap to be over with.
October 13, 200422 yr I don't see in any way how this has to do with Kerry. Accord has been lately spewing rubbish on these boards...
October 13, 200422 yr I'm sorry, but that ad was damn hilarious. If there was a pro-Bush ad with a similar page showing Kerry making out with Chirac or something, I'd laugh too. I guess the Republicans just don't have a good sense of humor. Politics is just a game anyway.
October 13, 200422 yr If there was a pro-Bush ad with a similar page showing Kerry making out with Chirac or something, I'd laugh too. 591016 Look at the new JibJab cartoon.
October 13, 200422 yr John Edwards nearly made me barf. He claimed that when Kerry is president, people like Christipher Reeves will be able to get up and walk again. This comment is unacceptable. :thumbdown
October 13, 200422 yr OK, just saw the cartoon, and that wasn't a beheading at all, but more like an unmasking of the Terminator (you DO remember that movie, right? After all, it has to be required viewing for every good Republican, if only because OMGAHNOLD is in it). Moreover, it doesn't make it look like Christians vs. Jews, but more like the Monty Python rendition of the Spanish Inquisition (which no one expects and whose major tenets are fear, surprise, and unyielding allegiance to the Pope). Now, I shall strap you into.... THE COMFY CHAIR!!!!!!!!!!!
