There's several things based on Marlins in the rumor mill and possibilities. Here's a few.

If the Cubs pick up a portion of Sammy Sosa's $17 million salary, they could find several teams interested in taking the disgruntled right fielder off their hands, says Chicago's Daily Southtown. Among the interested teams, says the newspaper are the Florida Marlins, Colorado Rockies and New York Mets.

The Florida Marlins will get first crack at keeping pitcher Carl Pavano, says the New York Daily News, but other teams including the Mets and Yankees will get consideration. His agent, Scott Shapiro, says Pavano is "taking a comprehensive approach" to free agency.

Oh and for those who mentioned Jose Guillen from the Angels..

The Mets have made it clear to the Angels they want first dibs on Jose Guillan if Anaheim decides to deal him, says the Orange County Register. The newspaper says Guillan will likely be traded to help Anaheim free up payroll room to pursue other free agents.

Oh, another funny is how they mention Yankees! need some payroll flexibility, and may move Posada..and Nomar might join A-Rod and Jeter in the infield..STL wants Pavy aswell...

Let the Mutts get Sosa...I don't want him either on this team.

Yeah I didn't think we could even afford him, sounds crazy.
