Shula Bowl on Saturday

Hey Maxx, what was FIU's average attendance this year?

It was a lil over 10,000 , thanks to last weeks game for bumping it up. It's an improvement but we needed more, those cancellations/postponements because of the two hurricanes really hurt our attendance at the beginning of the year. As far as I know FIU will petition the NCAA for a waiver because of the loss of attendance for those first two home games which were expected to be the biggest draws.

Maxx, Do you know if they are doing any kind of promotion on the FIU campus? Now that tickets for students are free, they should make that known.

I really wouldn't know man, I graduated so I haven't been on campus since the last football game. Juanky or Marlins02 might be able to tell you.

I haven't seen much yet, though it'll probably kick up as the game gets closer. Also, tickets for us every game are free anyway, only change is venue for this game.

I highly doubt they'll do too much because this is technically an away game and we aren't going to put resources into that, but i'm sure they may do some promotion just to have fans go out and support the football team. You can always try and ask in the FIU message board to see if anyone there has seen or heard anything else.

yeah, they probably wouldve just put up a few plain ads around the campuses but tommorow is the last real day of the week so i doubt they'll do any promotion if they havent started yet.

Yeah, it's an away game so I doubt they'll put too much effort into it.

Another reason to go to the game at PPS on Saturday....Jared Allen has quietly played his way to being an NFL prospect. Scouts have been watching him all season. His numbers aren't as great as last season, but still very impressive. On the other side of the field, FIU TE Sam Smith is a stud. So this game is a chance to see some players who may very well be playing on Sunday's pretty soon. Here's an article on Allen:

The baby Moss from FIU is also pretty talented, but he plays defense as opposed to offense like his relatives.

Four Panthers to look for (even though I heard that Haritan may not be playing Saturday due to an injury :( ):
