December 8, 200421 yr Happy he is gone. I think he could have a very nice year next season. This is setting up for Pavano to come down to Tigers and Sox.
December 8, 200421 yr overated and overpayed 629949 SHHHHHHH........the Marlins are gonna kick his ass next year.
December 8, 200421 yr overated and overpayed 629949 SHHHHHHH........the Marlins are gonna kick his ass next year. 629958 He started getting his stuff back at the end of last year and it showed in the playoffs. Id hold my words until later in the season....
December 8, 200421 yr Very sad for the Yankees... They should have picked up his option while they had the chance.
December 8, 200421 yr I said it at the end of last season, I'll say it again: The Yankees need to sign LEFT HANDED pitchers - preferably below the age of 40. Yankee Stadium is built around left handed pitching and left handed hitting. Bon Voyage, Jon.
December 8, 200421 yr Almost forgot: With the above in mind - *MY* priorities are getting Eric Milton back in pinstripes after the Knoblauch debacle and stealing Odalis Perez out from under the Rangers' noses.
December 9, 200421 yr To say he is overrated is laughable, you kinda have to be rated before you can be overrated. He was coming off TJ last year and as expected headed up towards the end of the season, TJ pitchers tend to return to form in their second and third seasons. He'll be the same pitcher he was in the latter years of his cubs tenure. It's a good signing considering this year's FA market has been lackluster for any decent pitchers. Lieber is a better pitcher than Milton and with THe Phils holding on to Lidle and Gavin Floyd right around the corner, THe Phils have a better rotation than last year. I'd still like to see them go out and get another mid level pitcher but if their rotation was set today, I'd have no problem with it. THey have plenty of options to go to if The Injury bug hits.

Am I the only one who believes Milton's the most overhyped player on this year's market. THe guy's never posted better than a 4.32 ERA and had a 4.75 in Philly last year. Not to mention he probably lucked out more than any other pitcher when it came to run support last year.

December 9, 200421 yr Leiber is a solid pitcher and a better NL pitcher and we're gonna see it first hand when the Marlins face him in 2005.
December 10, 200421 yr Thats a lot of money for somebody who isn't that good. Now Pavs pricetag will be out of reach... Oh well, at least we get to knock Lieber around in Phillies' HR-park.
