ANAHEIM -- The Nationals plan to unveil their home and away uniforms on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET at the ESPNZone in Washington, D.C.

 

Pitcher Zach Day and outfielder Terrmel Sledge will wear the uniforms, while ESPN baseball analyst Harold Reynolds is expected to be the master of ceremonies.

 

According to a source close to the situation, the uniforms will be mostly red, while the road jerseys are blue.

 

"I'm excited about wearing the uniform," Day said. "It means the season is getting close and we are beginning a new era."

I hope Terrmel doesn't get excited as Day and splooge his 'roid juice all over the purty uni.

Hmmm thats cool, I wonder if the public can go to that. I think I might have to.

I'm sure you can go to the event. You may need to buy something to eat or drink. At this venue, I'd recommend just a drink.

Is this foreshadowing to a Nationals deal to put their games on ABC-owned WMAL or maybe ESPN-affiliated WTEM? We shall see!

I know, WTEM was DCRTV's favorite...but WMAL has had team officials on and is owned by ABC which is co-owned by Disney along with ESPN.

Only WMAL issue I see is having Rush, Hannity, and Baseball can conflict. However, they are local at night when most games would play and ABC Radio stations have enjoyed baseball rights in the past.

 

We shall have to see, but WMAL is the best AM home I can think of.

I would think if harold Reynolds is gonna be master of ceremonines.

Why wait for the ceremony when I have them already! MLB put them on sale before the unveiling.

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Washington Nationals have postponed a news conference for Wednesday to unveil their new uniforms.

A team spokesman tells The Associated Press they'll issue a statement later Wednesday about why the event is being delayed. Nationals pitcher Zach Day and outfielder Terrmel Sledge canceled a live interview with WTOP that had been scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

 

The cancellations could be a sign, however, the deal between the city and Major League Baseball is in jeopardy. The D.C. Council passed a stadium financing bill Tuesday night that requires half the construction cost be privately paid. The deal the mayor had made with baseball requires the stadium be financed entirely with public dollars.
