December 15, 200421 yr Harvard coach Tim Murphy has interviewed for the opening at Indiana, The Boston Globe reported Tuesday. When contacted on a recruiting trip in Texas yesterday, Murphy said, "I can't confirm or deny any reports." When asked if he was interested in the job, Murphy, who guided the Crimson to the Ivy League title and a 10-0 record this season, declined to comment. Sources familiar with the Hoosiers' search say that Murphy may be one of the finalists, along with Kansas State defensive coordinator Bob Elliott. Indiana has been looking for a coach since Dec. 1, when Gerry DiNardo was fired. Former Nebraska coach Frank Solich, former Ohio State coach John Cooper, and recently fired Mississippi coach David Cutcliffe have expressed interest in the job. Another name mentioned has been former Washington coach Rick Neuheisel. But sources at Indiana say Greenspan will pare the list to two in the next few days and that a decision will be made by the end of the week. December 15, 200421 yr I hope Solich gets the Job. If he can improve his recruiting he could be a solid coach.
