Gracesqui done for 6 months

Featured Replies

The team was hopeful that left-hander Franklyn Gracesqui would pitch in the Dominican Republic, but that plan was derailed a week ago, as Gracesqui underwent shoulder surgery. The reliever is expected to be sidelined for up to six months.

Despite pitching with a sore arm for much of last season, Gracesqui earned a save at San Francisco in his debut with the Marlins.

If healthy, he was in line to compete for a relief spot in Spring Training.

I would've preferred him to start the season at AAA, but with the shape our bullpen is in, he probably would've been needed with the big club.

I think this just increases the need for the team to sign a left-handed reliever that isn't Chad Bentz.

There's that Rule 5 kid too. Hagerty's his name, I think.

Who says you even need a lefty in the pen?
