December 24, 200421 yr The Reds will win the NL Central for these reasons: 1. They return all of the offensive starters from a team that led the NL central for almost all of the 1st half of the season before being kiled by injuries. 2. They added decent, not great, bullpen help with guys like Kent Mercker, and others, we drastically improved our bullpen. 3. Joe Randa, the acquistion of this 3rd Baseman will fill our biggest offensive need by far, the hotcorner. 4. Reds have gotten healthy, so there starting line-up will look like this 1. Jimenez, 2B 2. Casey, 1b 3. Griffey Jr., CF 4 Dunn, LF 5. Kearns, RF 6. Randa, 3b 7. LaRue, C 8.Lopez, SS 5. Our completely different pitching staff from beginning of last year to the end, so much improvement in the final 4-6 weeks of the season carried us to series victories in their last series against the cards and cubs, ending the cubs season. 6. Dave Miley, 2004's 1st half manager of the year, know has a full year of managing under his belt will have this team ready to play. 7. No Barry Larkin, BIG destraction last year, was not able to play everday so it caused uncertainty in the unity of the team and everyday lineup. 8. Adam Dunn the development as a hitter, Ranked Top 10 in homers, 2nd in walks, and 2nd in OBP. 9. The Cubs, and Astros have done nothing to improve their team, only worsen it. The Cubs have lost their best hitter last year to the Giants (Alou) and the stros will lose their best hitter to the Yanks, and lost Wade Miller to the Sox, and they have a BAD pen besides Lidge. Even the Cards, while they have added Mulder they lost Edgar, and Matheny, and it is very unlikely Rolen will match is '04 production. 10. I AM A HOMER! Now while I may be a homer I have listed 9 real reasons while the Reds will be in thick of it, in '05.
December 24, 200421 yr Cards.. If you look at the NL Central really no team has improved except the Brewers imo. Cubs still have their same ol' crappy bullpen :lol
December 24, 200421 yr No cubs hmm prior, wood, zabrano maddex still together and maybe healthy, but i still take STL, Mulder puts them way ahead any one else.
