XM Radio

Featured Replies

I got one of those Delphi MyFi-s last week, a portable XM player and I am loooving XM. I am serious, I barely watch TV anymore, I rather listen to my XM. I think everyone should get it, especially sports nuts. This thing has espn, fox sports, and a bunch of others. XM has like all the ACC, Big 10 and Pac 10 games. And of course I can't wait until summer because XM will have baseball games from spring tranning through the world series. :mischief

Oh yeah and this was a commercial paid by XM. :shifty

Just wanted people to know about it. :thumbup

XM is $10 a month.

The portable player will put you down like 320-350.

You can buy some XM radios that you can play at home and in the car but not just carry around like the one I have for like 100 bucks.

The portable player will put you down like 320-350.

Cost more than the iPod. That's crazy.

Well it differs from the IPod. This thing offers 100+ channels of just commercial free music. Not to mention news and whatever else you desire. It lets you hear a lot of different stuff than you have before. Sure they have the mainstream stations, some of which are pretty cool. But it also has a lot of music on there you'd never be exposed to otherwise.

Anyway the thing records at least 5 hours of whatever you want it to. Transmitts to any FM player around so if you wanna show off your tunes you can blast 'em on any nearby radio. Probably could pull a good prank or two with it :mischief . And for the 350 the thing comes with like 30 different gadgets, so many little toys and options to play with. It scrolls sports scores and stoke quotes. Yeah its costly but I love music and sports so this offers me the best of both. Plus its not like I paid for it anyway. :cool

Lucky. It's not like I want it right now. Probably soon because I waste money on things I won't use or need.

that's 2.40 right there

not a bad deal if you ask me

I got a XM Delphi Skyfi and the Boombox attachment for Christmas.

It costs $9.99 (less than buying a CD once a month) for the first radio, $6.99 for your 2nd to 5th radios

SkyFi on left, SkyFi2 on right

The SkyFi reciever costs $79.99 and can be used at home, in the car, in the boat, in the RV, and in the boombox anywhere you can see the Southern sky in North America. XM has repeaters in many urban areas in the US. The SkyFi2 is $99.99 and adds replay abilities along with a better screen and an FM transmitter.

The boombox attachment I have is the Delphi SKYFi Audio System:

It costs $99.99 and allows you to put your SkyFi or SkyFi2 in it and runs on power or six D-batteries.

They have a new Walkman-style radio called the MyFi

It is very pricey at $349.99

There is also a new boombox with XM/AM/FM/CD/MP3 all in it. It's the Audiophase XM SKYBOX? and it costs $199.99

You can only buy this model at Best Buy or BestBuy.com

Another popular model is the $129.99 Roady2. They just brought out one for your home theater system form Polk called the XRt12 which costs $329.95

Overall, I am very happy with my XM SkyFi and it's Audio System Boombox. I can listen to all these channels except the Premium channels (Playboy and High Voltage with Opie and Anthony).

I can't wait until February when the new XM/MLB channel launches. For Spring Training they will launch 12 channels of games and 1 more for Spanish games.

I only wish I had this during Charley....I could have had CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and The Weather Channel during the entire storm! Oh well.....

cape: what channel #'s will all the baseball stuff be?

doesn't seem like they have a lot of room besides adding stuff at the end

Nice bonus is I now have XM and because I have Dish Network, I also get Sirius' music channels. :D

It seems to me Sirus is putting all of their eggs in the Howard Stern basket, as well as the NFL. The problem with the NFL is that people go to bars, generally, to watch the games if they are out of their area. For baseball and stuff, you aren't going to go to a bar every night to watch the game. I go to bars up in G'ville to catch the Dolphins, but now I'll have my trusty radio to catch them whenever I need to.

They are gonna add the channels to the basic monthly service according to their webbie.

I doubt it since Sirius already has the NBA. Seems like from a strictly sports perspective you'll have to choose between MLB/College B-ball and Football and NFL/NBA.

i'm fairly sure that the NBA's contract w/ sirius runs out after this year

not 100% sure tho

NBA and Sirius barely got a deal done this year. It was an 11th Hour affair after XM held out for MLB.

XM: MLB, ACC, Big 10, Pac-10, and NASCAR

Sirius: NFL, NBA, NHL, English Premier League Soccer, PAC 10, SEC, Big Ten, Big 12 and Big East.
