This is it, for all the marbles. The winner of this poll, lasting until Friday Night, will be crowned Best Band of All Time by the voters of MarlinsBaseball.com .

In the Hair Corner:

The Beatles

Is there a more famous band in the history of music than The Beatles? When they appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show for the first time, crime in the United States was at an all time low. Beatlemania became a noun in the English language. They initiated the rush of British bands (among other countries) that made it easier for Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd to show their talent in the States. They had 27 #1 singles, made a few movies, and some of the most recognizable faces in music.

In the Heavy Corner:

Led Zeppelin

The creators of the most famous song in rock and roll, Led Zeppelin is nothing short of world renown. You can't listen to a classic rock radio station more than an hour without listening to at least one Led Zeppelin song. All of their members are regarded as among the most talented at each of their roles (Jimmy Page, guitarist, is a finalist for Best Guitarist, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham were both in the earlier threads for bassist and drummer). Just like their opponent, when you think great music you think Led Zeppelin.

The Beatles

The Beatles over and over......and over.

they opened the doors for every single rock/pop band and have influenced every single musician in the world in the past 40 years.

Although I prefer Led Zeppelin, I have to admit that the Beatles had a much greater influence on modern music.

You probably won't meet a good modern band that wasn't influenced by both. However, Zeppelin didn't influence boy bands, and emo, and alternative rock clones...

Then there are bands like Soundgarden and AIC where you can see the Zep influence.

Led Zep
