My cousin Eric goes to Kent State University. I went searching for the article and here it is! Such horrible news! My prayers go out to their families and friends! Patrol: 3 Kent students killed in car crash, one in critical 2/4/2005, 6:31 p.m. ET The Associated Press? ? SALEM, Ohio (AP) ? A car carrying Kent State University students went through a stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck, killing three of the teenagers and hospitalizing another in critical condition, the highway patrol said. Driver Eric A. Citino, 18, of Homeworth, and passengers Brandon Butler, 19, of Woodsfield, and Chelsea Lausberg, 18, of Cabot, Pa., died in the crash about 9 p.m. Thursday on a state route outside this northeast Ohio city, the patrol said. Megan Daum, 19, Marysville, was in critical condition Friday at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. The car was forced off the road into roadside sign. The students were believed to have been leaving an event at West Branch High School in nearby Beloit, said patrol dispatcher Cheri Smith of the Canfield post. The pickup truck driver, Michael Nelson, 41, of Salem, was not seriously injured, Smith said. Nelson told the patrol he did not have time to avoid the collision. The patrol found no indication of alcohol or drug involvement. Smith said neither vehicle was speeding. West Branch Superintendent Scott Weingart said Citino went to the high school to watch his brother, Elliot, compete in a wrestling match. "He's a great kid and he was there to support his brother," Weingart said. February 6, 200521 yr Brandon one of the kids that died actually lived in the same dorm as me , only a few doors down. I never really got to know him, but I did talk to him a few times and it's really sad. Theres alot of people around here who knew him very well along with one of his best friends and all of us at the dorm have been trying to comfort them. Brandons roomate is really taking it hard, he hasent been in the room since he heard he died. Monday is going to be the hardest though, Brandons family is coming to to the dorm to gather all his things and take his stuff back home, it's all just very sad..
