Posted February 13, 200520 yr im surprised no one mentioned this today. today at the fan fest press conf with samson and beinfest someone asked if they planned on adding more seats to accomodate more ppl and samson flat out said no.he said the only way to add seats would be to add them outside the roof but that was as a joke. he said 38,000 will be the set number and his idea is he wants a high demand for tickets like they have in boston and chicago. he said a 38k stadium with a closed room makes it great acoustics and makes it sound like theres over 75k. so that should end the dicussion about adding more seats and such since they never will.
February 13, 200520 yr I hope they don't add more seats. Just make sure they televise all the games once all seats are sold out.
February 13, 200520 yr He also commented that he wants the tickets to be of such high demand that families will want to keep "their" seats for generations...much like the Cubs and Red Sox.

February 13, 200520 yr Fan support for the Marlins is really building right now. For those who want to get good seats in the new stadium, they need to secure there season tickets now, if they haven't done so already.
February 13, 200520 yr The one nice thing about playing in pro player, is that you can go to whatever game you want to. In boston and chicago, even if you want to go to alot of games, you might not be able to unless you are planning on spendning alot over face value. But if we did have that 38,000 seat stadium, I bet we would have sold more tickets yesterday because people would be scared of being left out. I did get my flex pack already so when they do get a stadium I should be allowed to get a flex pack or some sort of package there.
February 13, 200520 yr One more thing, if we do start selling out every game, they will add more seats even if they dont say it now. Just like the redsox and cubs have done and are doing now

He stated that the reason they limited them this year is because they block potential season ticket seats. For example, if a person takes a seat for a particular game with a flex pack, then that seat is no longer available for a full, 41 or possibly 20 game plans. So as season ticket plans become more popular, one could expect flex packs to go away.

February 13, 200520 yr Author doesnt matter what the cubs or bosox do. they have older stadiums that had excess room to allow for additional seats on the monster or on top of roofs in chicago. samson clearly stated the design of the stadium will allow for no expansion of more seats regardless of the demand for the tickets period.

Or maybe if they dont add seats right away they could add a bunch of standing room only to get capacity to 40,000. He obvioulsy wouldnt come out and say that they will expand, because then the demand might not grow as fast. If people think to themselvs that more seats will be added, then there will be no rush to get season tickets, or buy individual game tickets early. Trust me if the marlins start having waiting lists like some other teams, why wouldnt they try to make even more money? But we can wait for like 5 years + for that to happen
February 14, 200520 yr as long as we get a stadium we will be fine. if all of the games are sold out then it is better for Loria, he has shown south florida that he wants to keep a competitive team in south florida.
