The New SAT

Featured Replies

SATs are lame. Probably helped me get into college though.

The new SAT's are said to be easier, so why would you be releived? These people are gonna have a easier break. I do well with those kind of tests, its all about vocabulary. And math, of course.

May 7th sounds like a good date. It's a Saturday.

Edit: Nope, Mariner won't have this one. I will take one in the Fall then.

How does the new SAT work?

Math is the same, but apparently harder.

Verbal is now "Critical Reading" and has no analogies

Writing has multiple choice and an essay.

Some tips on the essay:

-4 paragraphs, one into, two body, one conclusion.

The body paragraphs are examples of whatever the prompt is talking about. One is a current example, the other is an example from history. Relate each paragraph back to the thesis. Have a good opening sentence and use four or five big words.

That advice will get you at least at a 4. If you organize it well you are guarenteed a 5, leave grammar/ spelling mistakes at a minimun and you've got a 6.

I'm taking an AP English Language and Composition Exam in May and that is my #1 concern right now.

I was lazy and took honors due to not wanting to do an essay a night. So basically now I get 5 AP's with no work what so ever. :D

All you really need to do is strongly support one side of the argument and you win.

You're probably going to take you AP test and SAT test (May 7th) like in a 5 day span.

Bull f-ing crap.

I had to get a tutor just to master the Verbal section, and now they are tearing it apart??

I got an 800 on Math, though :) 1450 total.
